Last month Google announced the Nexus 6, the company’s flagship Nexus smartphone made by Motorola. Soon after the announcement Motorola India revealed that the smartphone would roll in 28 countries, including India starting later this year. The 32GB variant of the smartphone has been listed on Flipkart as Coming Soon, but the pricing is not mentioned.

This hints that it might launch in India soon. Google launched the Nexus 5 smartphone in India on Google Play within weeks after it was announced. The Google Nexus 9 tablet surfaced on Google Play Store in India recently along with the price tag, but it is yet to go on sale in the country.

Google Nexus 6 specifications

  • 2.7GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 (APQ 8084-AB) processor with Adreno 420 GPU
  • 3GB RAM, 32GB/64GB internal memory
  • Android 5.0 (Lollipop)
  • Dual Front Facing Stereo Speakers
  • Water Resistant
  • 13MP rear camera with dual LED Ring flash, OIS, Sony IMX 214 sensor, f/20 aperture, 4K video recording

The Nexus 6 is facing a huge demand in the U.S. It sold out in minutes once the sales opened last week. It has not been listed on Google Play in India yet. Will the smartphone come to retail stores? We will have to wait for few more weeks to find that out.

I guess it will be a joint release on playstore and flipkart.
About retailers;it might be decided by Goigle & Moto.

Play Store is generally at a higher cost but they might offer one time screen replacement also.

Last year nexus 5's mrp was 30k for retail shops and 29k at playstore.

Also, not that Play support officially says it that they replace your phone with screen crack but if you start RMA for some reason other than screen crack at play store and you send the phone cracked, they replace it no problems. I and many others at XDA have experienced this. Google's play store is awesome.

What do you mean by their warranty rocks ? I would get warranty if I were to buy from flipkart as well right ?

Just not that. If you want play store warranty, you have to buy from Google only. Though if you buy locally or online (not google) you can still get software support, just not hardware warranty support. This is the sole reason I always prefer buying from Play store directly no matter the price.

I think the screen crack replacement is valid only in the US. Plus the Play Store does not work with Indian debit cards making it out-of-reach for most of us (including me).

Might not be official, but I got it replaced. So there's that.

I'm almost certain I've bought stuff on the Play Store with my debit cards.
