I think the whole "Google's own SoC Tensor" thing caused it and may be rightly so. Problem is its plagued with too many issues. Google has since released another update https://www.gsmarena.com/google_fin..._after_botched_december_update-news-52700.php
Google and their Pixel 6 owners can only hope that the issues are software related. Because if its hardware related like the Samsung Note 7 battery then they are screwed. But they have time to fix it before they launch the 6A model.
+1 for Google's issues doing more with chip than software.
Anyone observing the pixel lineups would be aware that bugs, if existent, would be resolved in 2-3 updates since their phones were based on QC.
This is for first time Google's going with Tensor so it seems they have more issues optimising with Samsung chip than on QC chip.
