A user on reddit recently posted on reddit showing that the camera bump on their Google Pixel 9 Pro peeling off. He mentions that the smartphone had been in a case since the device was being used, but the camera lenses started developing fog after he left it in the sink and went to take a shower. He also said that when he took the case off and took a look and one side of the camera bar was not attached at all, just lifted right up with a gentle pull.

Similar issues have also been noticed by other owners and indicates some serious design flaws that the buyers should be aware of.

The user did get a replacement but ended up loosing his store credit and extra $200. Although in a similar incident it seems like the person did not get any support from Google apparently due to the device being more than 90 days old, which contradicts Google's 1 year warranty.

Here we go again. Always admired the Pixel's software and camera, but never took the plunge because of the recurring hardware issues. Each model seems to have some hardware-related problem (fingerprint, processor etc) .
It's frustrating when a device with such great software is let down by hardware flaws.

Buying a pixel is basically a hardware lottery. Many enthusiasts purchase them without fully realizing this. Google's hardware quality often feels half-hearted.

Samsung flagships are pretty much my only android option at this point.

In addition to the recent P4a batterygate, this does not fill me with confidence at all about choosing my next daily driver to be a Pixel.

They are improving on their quality but are definitely a far away from consideration, the BBK chinese brands make better built phone for crying out loud!
