@ashrr This could be subjective. Eighter its going to be HTC making a GPE device or HTC making a phone which google want.

However the price point of Nexus was very appealing.

Nexus phones will reportedly be replaced by premium Android Silver handsets. So, there still is a way, which is slightly expensive.

So now that the dust has settled:
  • Android Silver - Premium segment
  • Google Nexus - mid segment developer phones
  • Android One - Low end

hmm, advantage of nexus was you get the latest updates. Now you will be able to get that on a low/mid end (one) as well as high end (silver)

So what is the point of nexus now. Why would you want a nexus ?

devs will want but what about non-devs.

Because Android One phones are pretty ultra low end running Mediatek processors at a price of less than $100 USD (Kinda like Moto E). Nexus devices will still give you flagship performance at a great price.
