Google's web based chat missing

Since a few days,

The options to chat inside google for my primary a/c are missing. The tab which shows the drop down for the contacts is missing altogether. I could not find any settings on the same. The normal view is enabled. Also the chat applet is present in my other Gmail a/c

Any pointers for the same ?

I mean are you using no script addon with firefox? Have you tried on other browsers

Yep in IE too, not working. Not working at work too. Besides as I mentioned thye chat applet is working for other a/c's....

Go to the bottom of the page and try manipulating(toggling) any of these.

Ok thats the prob, I do net get the chat option at all... Am using FF beta 3

Can't say for sure but that might/might not be an issue. Try accessing gmail using the recommended ones given here.

Also, try changing back to the older version of gmail, assuming existing browser-incompatibilities with the newer one.

Problem solved, searched around a bit, had to change the lang from UK english to US english !!
