Hello everyone,

I got a new PC for home use last week.
The configuration was derived from TechEnclave threads.
AMD Athlon 3200+ (Orleans core) : 4100
ASUS M2NPV-VM : 4900
Kingston PC2-4300 512 *2 : 5600
Western Digital WD2500KS 250 GB : 4300
Microsoft Multimedia Keyboard+Mouse (Basic) : 800
ATX cabinet : 1300
LG DVD/CD writer : 1850
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Total : 22850 + VAT 4% = 23764

I have asked for the viewsonic VA1912wb . The dealer has quoted 13.4 inclusive of taxes.

Yep, I also ordered a 320 GB Seagate SATA2 for 4.6k. You should have got a 300GB drive for 4.3k. 250Gb should be around the 3.9k mark.

The dealer says he can give Seagate 250 GB for 4k .

The Western Digital HDD has a 16MB Cache so the extra 300 or so.

well, i got 1 250GB hitachi sata II for 3550 last week. Seems hitachi ones are the cheapest and good ones too.

I think you should have gone for AMD X2 3600+, it's now coming for Rs. 5350/-. Dual Core realyy makes a big difference, with just a price diff. of Rs. 1250/-. But anyway congrats for your new PC.

dude. the prices seem a bit high.

I got Athlon64 AM2 3000+ and M2NPV-MX for 7650 rs (for both) from Pakshal Impex in Lamington Road.

The RAM, keyboard+mouse and DVD writer price is ok.

But the HDD is kinda over priced. I got a Seagate 160GB SATA2 for 2725.

3200+ for 4.1k????? For 3k i got 3000+ so i guess 500 more for 3200+ shd b enough

always ask somone before buying

western digitals are always more expensive than seagate by ~400-500bucks...but the kind of reliability and after sales service they offer, its definitely worth it

Just after a few days AMD CPU prices came down. All the dealers that
I spoke to here in Pune were quoting 5800 for X2 3600 + at that time.

Well, I am seriously beginning to think that there is a big price difference between Mumbai and Pune retail prices.
