Got a pair of turtles..what do I feed them ?

Hi Guys,

I got a pair of turtles, I wanna know what to feed them ?

According to the shopkeeper they are called singapore turtles.

There
Dark Green in color, with a red colored band bordering their shell and a horn similar to a rhino on their shell.
 
U can buy food directly from there..

Its avaiable for Rs.200.00 something....

Remmber to keep then in Dry wet condition.. little place to swim n little to rest on.

Do not keep them with fishes since they will either eat them or their poop level will increase the nitrates in the aquarium which will be totally undersirable for your fish and will eventually pop them up to fish gods!!!
 
Show us some pictures buddy...

I think you can get tortoise food from the shop itself as hmasalia suggested...
 
^Why would it be not legal do have them? People keep dogs, cats, fishes, rabbits and what not?! I dont think keeping turtles should be an issue. And IINM, appo saar had few in his aquarium. He could guide the OP on the right feed.

And post pics man! :P
 
Only specific types of turtles are allowed to be kept as pets, you can't keep any turtle. I don't know what types those include though.
 
Well some turtles are protected species so having them as pets is illegal, there are quite a few legal turtles available that can be kept as pets, not sure which category the OP's turtle falls into though
 
hmm, i also always thought it was illegal to keep turtles,

that's what my friends who has a couple says to brag!

people smuggle them like hash n grass while returning from SG :P

it is not expensive there (talking about turtles)
 
i have 2 tortoise, we give them veges :D

sometimes we dont get salad for lunch, coz my dad feeds it to them lol
 
Guys this is a turtle not a tortiose. its a fresh water turtle........

its legal to keep them..........................

Also which specie is it?...want to confirm maneka (lol..reminded me of a carton in newspaper.....maneka runing with a playcard saying save animals..and behind her son with a playcard..kill humans..lolz)
 
my friend fed his turtle baby corn----consult a vet for proper diet.
