Hey guys,

After buying a new car, I want a GPS system to roam around the city. I have SE w910i which doesn't have GPS :|, Anyway, SE has somethin called as GPS enabler Sony Ericsson - Accessories - Overview - HGE-100 This thing actually enables GPS on compatible phones. It retails for 3.8k

Should i buy this or buy a stand alone GPS device? My budget is 4.5k max

The GPS enabler does it all or should i need to buy maps and software for it?
A brief explanation about the GPS Softwares and maps would be of great help.

Thanks:)

Okay a stand alone gps device along with software will cost you upwards of 17k.

Not too sure but i don't think SE offers any GPS solution like nokia maps.So i think you have to use google maps with it.If that's the case it's not worth it since goggle maps don't provide voice navigation or turn by turn instructions on how to get to your destination. Also you will have to be connected to the net to use google maps.

So you can try using nokia maps with your SE phone(i don't know whether that will work or not) or spend 17 k and get a standalone GPS device from mapmyindia or other companies.Frankly a standalone GPS device is much better than any gps solutions offered by phones
