Graphic Cards GPU Temps

Hey Guys,

I have connected my GPU to two outputs. One is to my Samsung 20" via DVI and Samsung C530 32" via HDMI. Now, when I connect to both the outputs. My GPU soars to 65C at Idle and 85C while playing Cryshit 2. Is this normal? My normal Idle Temps with Single Display is around 42-45C. Since, then I am using only one Display at a time. Is there any solution to this? And for enabling both Displays I use Duplicate Window option through Windows 7. Is the the correct way to use Two Displays simualteneously?

That is weird. Why would the GPU heat up using multi-monitor. You sure of this. When both are connected, are the core/MEM clocks at idle state..? Which driver you on.
 
^ It does heat up when hooked up to second monitor. The reason is that GPU Core/memory clocks are increased and it tries to maintain higher clocks to prevent screen flickering when shifting between power states.

@ OP.. It is normal and happens to almost every card out there..

Sir, what can I do about it. I game and watch HD content only on 32 incher and browse and do office work on the 20 incher. Do i need to plugin only one display everytime then? Because when the Temps are high, the fan starts making noise like hell. I Dont like the noise either.
 
^^not always the most feasible of options...except if he gets a real good deal for a killer cooler!

i guess he'll have to take the trouble of switching the lcd's everytime unless he wants to spend on a cooler...
 
^but if you need something then you have to sacrifice. Yes,switching the lcd is a solution, but OP wants to use both the lcd, so he will either have to shell out money for the cooler or will have to switch the lcd

Never intend to add a cooler. Planning for a GPU overhaul soon:D So, not worth adding a After Market cooler.

BTW, is there any guide for setting up two monitors. I have been googling about it. If someone has already done it, need suggestions please.

There is no fix to this problem. Solutions given by CA50 and demonic seems to be the only feasible ones. You can ratchet down the temp but need to speed up the fan and bear the fan noise.

+1 Will try to increase the fan speed as of now.
 
^along with that you can reduce the core clock as well, when you are not indulged in heavy gaming, that will help you to keep temps at safe level.

Also check the inside of your chassis, if there is any way to add fan for the gpu or even realigning the currents fans for better air flow :)
 
@CA50- Just yesterday, cleant the whole setup and changed the fans. All the fans are 120mm,Added a CM 63CFM at the bottom, Xigmatek on the side and front. One CM fan for the rear exhaust,Got two CM fans at the top.

Lots of cable management now. I think that should do.
 
Don not worry about the temperatures. From what I have seenon review sites, your temps are just slightly on the higher side, which is surely due to Indian summer. Use a custom fan profile in afterburner and ensure that the temperature at idle is less than 60, and temperature in furmark after 30mins is less than 85, and you are good to go. Once summer is over you could go for a quieter fan profile.

+1 Yeah will do that. But my idle temp are 40C when its on a Single Display. Load goes to 66C on Furmark.
