hello, i have EVGA GTX 280 Super Clocked with 600 VIP PSU with 44 on +12V rail...

in some games like spiderman web of shadows, sims3, spore... i get grafix like some negetive effect...and sometimes get black little bars here and there during gaming....after restarting the game everything goes fine... and after sometime the same happens...

i don't know y.....is it 'coz of my psu....or something else......

plzz help....

i also wanna add that......... in games like GTA IV, chronicles-assualt on dark athena, velvet assain, mirrors edge...there is no problem, doesn't matter how long i play....
 
Maybe temps, 280 runs hot. Download EVGA Precision, latest version and increase fan speed, check apply settings @ window startup.
 
my sys specs r:

e8500 @ stock speed, 4 GB reaper @ 1111 Mhz, 2 TB HDD, 185.85 Nvidia driver,

problem persists no matter at what the resolution game is running....
i did OS (XP SP3) clean install 2 times....
and there is no fixed time or stage in game when the problem starts..........

it happens only in some games....not in other tasks...
 
Just put ur crd in ur frnds pc n chk wid d games in which u were gettin problems, if probl is stil dere than just rma ur crd otherwise dere may be some issue in ur psu or can be something else. Let us know after chkin it in other.

i dont thnk itz overheating prob because d games in which op is facing probl r not dat gpu demanding dan those games mentioned dat r wrkin well, more d demand of gpu, more d heat generated.
 
Most likely its the PSU.VIP 600 is not sufficient for GTX 280.You will have to change your PSU sooner or later.

One thing i don't understand is, how you can have a rig with an E8500, Reapers and a GTX 280 but still run it on a VIP PSU.
The PSU can't handle the load power requirement of the GTX 280 along with the rest of the rig and the 2 1 TB hard drives, atleast that's the conclusion i can think of...

But, since you say certain games run fine, other issues cannot be ruled out as well...
 
such an high end system n using PSU like VIP....:no: evn though PSU may nt b a problem in dis particular matter bt u better change it coz it wl surely call for sm serious problem in future.....the GTX 280 (being an 65nm)is a very power hungry card n if its nt getting enough power it wl nt b able 2 sustain itslf for long time.....CHANGE IT IMEEDIATELY:cool2:
 
i was playing sims3.... to get the pics....

and i just pressed windowds key on keyboard to check if the images r captured...and when i returned to the game (didn't restart the game)...the problem seems fixed...these r those images...

now i don't know what's wrong....is it the gfx or the psu...
