I have a Budget of Rs.16k(tight) and i will be upgrading my graphic card soon
So Which one should i buy?

Upcoming games that i want to play:
Modern Warfare 3
Shift 2
Crysis 2
Batman Arkham City
Mass effect 3

Please recommend a Descent graphic card that can play all the above games at full settings leaving the exception Crysis 2.

i was thinking 2 buy it but its not 100% sure that the card will unlock to 6970

and is there any card from nvidia giving equal performance to 6950 at this price.

what about GTX560?
 
If you really want nvidia then GTX 560 Ti twin frozr II OC for 15.4k is your bet

HIS gfx cards usually unlock and 6950 in itself Is an awesome card
 
If HIS 6950 unlocks to 6970 well i have no problem in buying that.

Oh crysis 2 should be cakewalk , you will be using your C2Q ? I really dunno performance with that though , imo it should run crysis 2 at full
 
No i sold it a while back but will be upgrading my mobo as well as proccy,

i have'nt thought about the mobo but CPU will either be i5-670 or i7-6series maybe.

i will be opening a thread for that too but later.

Got the game yesterday and indeed Crysis2 is really a cakewalk with cherries on top :) for my rig itself so the new cards should handle it easily (i game @ 1440*900, WinXP SP3 so DX9 only and get constant 40-45 fps)
 
Grab the HD6950 2GB. Will run all the mentioned games, comes within your budget, and plus, it's a BONUS if it unlocks to a HD6970 2GB.
 
Better get the GPU along with CPU and Mobo upgrade since for now your proccy will be big bottleneck and not worth upgrading GPU IMO.

+1 to DarkAngel's flag better to do a whole-RIG-up than piece meal upgrade of GPU then CPU due to following reason -- the GPU + CPU price spread is better plus it is easier to match-up the components in your budget and get absolute value for money and no components gets overspent on while another might loose out on importance.

If you're waiting for another month look out for AMD's upcoming BullDozer cores they are looking as if they are ready to rumble with Intel's best, so fingers crossed for me.
 
I'd also advice you to first upgrade your CPU and motherboard, your processor is a bottleneck to your existing HD5770, and lets not even talk about a HD6950 so it wont make sense. Also, when you'll be making your purchase chances are you will get your GPU at a cheaper price so there is no sense in first getting a GPU and then CPU+motherboard.

You priority now should me more on changing your CPU and motherboard, and then to upgrade to a better GPU. That LGA775 socket is EOL/ancient
 
i cant buy the CPU for another month,some reasons. But i think i'll delay buying the GPU as well, will upgrade everything all together then. I can wait for a month.
 
Hey guy just wanna know, is it worth getting another MSI 6850 and do crossfire, is it worth ? i already have 6850 i got it in Jan for Rs. 13000 and now i get the same gfx card for under 10k , so wht do u think??? and pls recommend me a PSU also....thnks
