So which are the oldest working gaming chips you have experienced in your PC history?

My 9800pro lasted 2.5 yrs before dying been the longest so far. Current one is 1.5 yrs and going strong.

the 4mb voodoo and then the 3dfx glide powered my system from 1996 to 1999.

then my nvidia riva tnt2 m64 lasted 3 years b4 i felt i needed to get a geforce 2 mx400 64 mb which lasted me from 2001 till 2004--4 years

my current geforce 8800gt 512mb has successfully completed its 2nd birthday last week

the shortest a card has lasted me was the xfx fx5200 which i got with my rubbish intel p4 presscott in 2004 it lasted 11 months before the amd 64 based system with nvidia 6600gt 128 mb replaced the rubbish intel with the fx5200--the card was sold to a friend and is still running.

also the 6600gt was sold 2 years back(replaced with 8800gt) to another friend and is still running properly-----the 6600gt is 5 years old now.

all the cards were made by xfx --except the 8800gt(made by galaxy!)

all of the cards i have owned were made by nvidia!!!

for me it would be the Geforce 2MX and the Geforce 4 MX440, both lasted around 4 years each.

my 9800pro lasted me about 3yrs :P

my 8800GTS blew up within 2 yrs

currently on a 7600gt which is about 3yrs old, never kept track of the older riva tnt cards once I sold them.

my asus fx5200 bought in 2003 is still running.it has a passive cooling by default .
edit acually i got it RMAed in 2004.so its running from 2004,after which i added the fan.

had SiS 6326 or something 8mb card for 2 years then Riva TNT2 M64 for 2 years till 2000,

2001-2003 - generic Geforce 4 - MX440

2003-2004 - Aopen FX5700Le 256mb (fried in a year-(got it from USA))

2004 mid -2005 - 2006 mid - 2xGeforce 6600GT (1 was MSI (got it from USA) and 2nd was BiG both fried within the time period 2 year))

2006 mid -2007 - 7600GT

2007 - 2008 - Geforce 9600GSO 768Mb (Xpertvision)

2009 onwards GTX260 in SLi

so the longest for me was Geforce 4 MX440

best experience playing in GeforceFX5700Le.. the best card on which ive ever played...

Never used ATi and never will use it.. :P

best and reliable brand i feel is Xpertvision, Sparkle and Evga

GPU can work for that much long? :ashamed:

I had purchased ATI 9550 256mb agp card from Powercolor in 2002 and is still working but i have sold it . I used it from 2002-2007 !! and then i upgraded to 7600gt which blew within 1.5 years . The ati card was unused from 2007 but when a friend of mine wanted an agp card i decided to see if the card is working , so i plugged it in my old system and guess what , it was as good as new . So i exchanged the 9550 with my friend for a 2gb pen drive:)

xfx 6200 LE...I used it for so many years and played crysis and warhead....I sold it before some months to a TE member

err.. i've had about 6 cards in year. Now stable with a Sapphire 4870, but the itch to move on has come by :P :ashamed:

1999- got trident 9750 4mb agp card on my 1st system.

2001-2002- got Riva TNT2 M64 32mb--died in 1.5yrs

2002mid-end02- geforce MX 420se 64mb on 2nd system then sold it soon then,

2003-2004- geforce MX 440 64mb on 3rd system

2004-2005- got geforce fx5200 128mb

2005mid-2009...-got geforce 6600 256mb and 6600gt 128mb on 2 pci-ex systems. Eventually 6600 died in late 2008 while 6600gt is still performing. :bleh:

2009----------- got 4650 on latest system and sold within 18days and now awaiting 5xxx series :) and back on good old 6600gt. :hap2::P

Oh yeah , I have a 9600xt from 2003 too still alive in parents rig

ATI Radeon 7000 32MB AGP bought in 2002 and still workin. It was the first card under the Radeon series:)

Have used, mostly NVDIA cards
1. Started with Riva TNT 16MB back when Quake 2 had darkening issues with it, lasted for I think 3 years and then sold the old system with the card
2. Got Asus Nforce1 mobo with Geforce 2 MX onboard which lasted me like almost 7 years, but in the end 2 years the card started giving issues with colours changing by themselves, so added a cheap SIS AGB card. Now the system is no longer with me.
3. 6800GT bought from US, lasted for less than two years, blew up in white smoke, no warranty, IC had gone, beyond repair. Ouch and I paid a lot for it.
4. Currently using Galaxy 8600GT OC, still running smoothly no issues except that the fan died a few months back got it replaced by changing the fan+heatsink combo for Rs.350 (or Rs.300) as fan isn't covered in warranty.

In the middle I've owned a MSI 5900XT briefly before the 6800GT and 9800 (128bit) briefly again before I returned it due to the lesser mem bandwidth.
