how much is ur max budget . u should get a 8600gt for now as ur cpu will bottleneck 4670/9600gt . 8600GT will also run fine on generic 450w psu with 20amps on +12v rail , no point in getting 9600gt / 4670 for ur pc because u will need good psu for that and still performance gain over 8600gt will not be much because for cpu bottleneck .

First upgrade ur CPU ....

Rest of the config is fine...U can purchase 4670 along with a good PSU and later on upgrade ur CPU...

8600 gt 256mb ddr3 runs

mass effect at med settings

red alert 3 at high settings (max is "highest")

runs TF2 at med settings

i hav similar config as urs..

if u f9 wid it get it... later when u up mayb u can sell this off at bout 2/3rd of its price n get a sm other one...

so 8600 Gt is more den nough for low upgraded pcs.....
hang up with it nd later go for a good card

For time being
dats the best u can get as per ur current config
ders no use getting a 9600 Gt since it will be bottlenecked
later on till ur pc upgrades u can find many new cards in the market at cheaper prices

So save ur money........

You can do 2 things:
1. Get a 8600 GT now and use it as a back up card later after the upgrade.
2. Get a 9600 GT or 4670 now. Eventhough it will be bottle necked now later after the upgrade u can use it properly.

Option 2 will be a mistake. You will have better options when you will upgrade in Jun/Jul 09. If you decide carry forward these cards it won't be upto the mark at that time. If you decide to use it as a backup card - What the heck? Why spend more now for a future back up card? Try and sell it you won't get anything much in return. No matter what you do with a 9600/4670 you will end up with a loss.

Hence, settle for a 8600 gt now it will be a great back up card as well later on as well.

Mind you 8600 GT does not utilize more than 256mb properly. Hence go for a 256 ddr3 instead of 512 ddr2. Still 512 ddr3 are available, they cost a bit more but then its your call.
