Hi

My Rig:

Core i7 860 @ 3.675 GHz
2x2 GB DDR3 1600 @ 1756 Ripjaws 7-8-7-24 1T
1TB Seagate 7200.12
1GB Sapphire 5850
Asus Xonar DX

Settings:

A) Everything V High or Near Max
Shadows 8 / 16
Draw Distance (DD) 32 / 100
No AA through CAT 10.3

B) Auto Config of Patch 1.0.5.0
Roughly High Settings

A) 1440x900 is good, with avg FPS around 50-60. Benchie at 64.
1680x1050 gives about 50+ FPS but isn't as smooth in reality and I don't feel like playing at this rez.
1920x1080 gives about 35-40 FPS and is too jerky and very less smooth. Very good graphics but not all that worth playing.

B) 1920x1080 Good graphics but still not perfectly smooth, not as smooth as A) 1440x900.

Benchie even at 1920x1080 Near Max A) shows avg around 64 with minimum I could see in game around 50 FPS or so. But the smoothness in real time game play is just not there.

I am using Windows 7 64bit Ultimate with patch 1.0.5.0 with CAT 10.3

Its that the game is not smooth even at 50 FPS at max settings at full HD.

Regardless of the FPS, the game isn't smooth at those settings.

At lower settings with slightly higher FPS, the game is better.

And I have clip capture on in these benchies.

if using old drivers, try using ati drivers version 10.3, you will get it on guru3d.com , official site dont hav it yet.

GTA4 is not smooth at all, i had 2* gtx 275 and well the performance sucked, earlier they told me it was a SLi thing and after several patches i still dont have a smooth game play.

Its rather to do with the fact that its a bad console port than a true PC game...
