@ OP: Try driver cleaner pro and see if you can try on another system.

Sorcy, getting artifacts means card is dead/dying no driver issue will lead to artifacting.

Vrd: Any idea what were the load temps when the card was in operation? And its not just Palit, but quite a few of the 65nm GTX 260 chips are failing, seems like the packaging issue of the mobile chips have spilled over. Infact Bikey just had a EVGA which died too. If Palit's ASS is good, then no worries buying the brand again.

@ sato1986 - Why U hate Palit so much, any GPU can die, I can count 7-8 EVGA 8 series died on TE. Now U count Palit. Lets see.

^ I got artifacts when I installed GTX 260 192 core, w/o cleaning 4850 drivers

Thats strange, as driver issue will lead to instability, black outs etc, but artifacting means the card is rendering, atleast thats what I have seen :P

i dont have any grudge....... maybe co-incidence but seeing just wayy too many palits going wrong :(

Bought Palit 4670 for a frnd thinking that GPUs of different brands have comparable failure rates and hence no need to worry about 1 specific company.

But then:

Card - Died after 1 day

Dealer - Dint honor replacement and told me it would go under RMA

RMA - Has taken 20 days and still my friend hasnt recieved a replacement

Dealer - Offers Powercolor 4670 as soon as it arrives in his stock

Hence i started analyzing my experience with different brands, also Checked Online for frequency of failures of different brands..

Conclusion: Currently, Palit failure rate is off the chart! :(

:( sad.

temp must have been about 65-70c as i was playing crysis and its in the same range when on load.
(btw,my card is 55nm)

tried driver cleaner pro.
artifacting is still persisting. i can see small green dots on the screen at different places.

Would recommend you drop it off at their centre and keep me updated on the status, I'll try and speed things along. If there are stock issues in the RMA, you might get the Galaxy Tri-Fan one (MAYBEEEEE) :P

just to check - are the green dots random - or are they replacing regions of the game meant to be black/ pitch black in colour? Are they neon green?

If this is the case, then u need to check ur monitor settings/ monitor temperature profile (hoping u know how to check this in monitor menu) and ur windows rgb profiles.

This is not card related tho, more of a windows issue.

i am getting the green dots right on the desktop. cannot even start any graphics heavy apps like games or aero, screen goes blank and the system restarts and i am using exactly the same system with my backup card right now. no monitor issues with it.
