follow the link i've pasted
Sorry, but this is a non issue and have been made a big deal out of nothing.

Sure, their ES samples to reviewers shipped with the PWM heatsink. But its not needed.

There will always be few cards of any brand that will go bad.

Keep in mind that not even reference design ( Nvidia in house reference PCB design ) or for that matter any other GTX 460 ( MSI cyclone, Asus, Zotac, Evga ) have heatsinks on their PWM mosfets. The only one at the moment with actually different design is the Galaxy GTX 460 GC edition cards which come with beefed up 5 phase pwm and heatsink on mosfets.( And not available in India as usual :P )

That is a very un-informed post. Zotac has a very good reputation in Europe, and their 5 year warranty makes it a very attractive proposition. Asus was one the numero uno reseller till some years back, they are suffering in India due to the sorry dealership of Rashi (I believe it has improved in the last few months). EVGA is more or less never going to come to India. MSI I would be wary of buying it India, as not heard good stories regarding its ASS. Gigabyte is a safe bet as I believe Digilink looks after the RMA services. Palit I would stay away from it with a barge of a pole, best GTX 460 or not, their ASS is simply the worst here.

And you do notice all those international give-away wont be applicable in India...

i am sorry mods if my post wasn't informative or a little off-topic
but since this thread is a discussion for gtx 460
i am going to paste an updated gtx 460 review from guru3d
Updated Palit GTX 460 Sonic Platinum results

vrm heatsink isn't needed now that palit has updated the bios to adjust fan speed
to reduce noise and improve cooling!!:)

i hope i am not veering away from the topic:ashamed:

still NO news on 768MB editions:annoyed:
