I actually agreed with what you said. Maybe you did not understand.

So let me put it this way. Just because somebody sells haleem with a pista house box does not mean its the real thing. That's the point i quoted you on.

Whereas i not knowing any better would just look for a box with the right name and think i got the right product. Its really easy to be fooled with fakes.

I had this today but unfortunately it wasn't well made and I refuse to stop until I've had the most authentic perfect one in Kolkata. Kolkata foodies point me to the right place? Arsalan, Shiraz? Haleem experts!!

Arsalan and Shiraz at Park Circus is your best bet. Related article - http://www.telegraphindia.com/1110825/jsp/entertainment/story_14419832.jsp If I'd known you are a fellow carnivore, we could've gone for a foodwalk or something while I was in Calcutta.

Yes, you made a valuable post for haleem n00b's like me :D

well that is what is going in so called outlets out there. In each area in Hyderabad they have at least 4 outlets for each box they sell they get 15 Rupees commission. Last year when i had haleem one of their outlet and got literally nothing out.

This was last year, I am not sure there may be more outlets this year. I have vowed not to eat out at such places again.

Because mutton is very expensive, same story with biryani. Cooking with bones is good just that they need to seperate it out when selling.

if i want meat nowadays i just go for a steak, no bones at all.

Ordered for delivery in Delhi. As per the terms, it seems like I will receive it in time for dinner on Monday! Can't wait!

the first time i ordered from pista house , i never knew i will end up living in hyderabad , now that i am here , every other day , a new kinda haleem to eat :D

come on guys, don't be selfish and enjoy haleem all by yourself.
Let us know as well the places where you find good quality haleem.
I tried at bawarchi near madhapur, hyderabad. wasn't good

shah ghouse is ruling it this time :D

why dont you join the haleem walk scottwilly , i think its happening this weekend or so

I personally found that Pista House's Haleem contains a large quantity of bones (of various sizes) which are not only irritating in such a dish, but also add to the weight. In a 250 gm tin, I think there were at least 75~100 gm worth of bones.
