Storage Solutions Hard Disk for asus K8VX Motherboard

Hi
I have the asus K8VX Motherboard WITH AMD 64 3000+CPU WITH 80 GB C Grade Hard Disk.I want to put a higher capacity hard disk in it.i am not sure if the current new hard disk will be supported by my my motherboard so what are my options?(my budget is about rs3000)

I think it has two sata ports. I don't know if they they are SATA 1 or 2.
you can get any SATA hdds. Just make sure that you get a jumper to make it sata 1 compatible.

Hi, yes I saw the SATA ports available on the motheboard. I will be getting a WD 500 GB model soon...let's see how that goes. The computer guy agreed to take the drive back if it doesn't work on mine.

it should work if you set the jumpers right. your mobo has SATA1 so performance would be bad
