Was reading airtel FUP and just saw that they have increased the FUP limit to 1Mbps for the 2Mbps 30GB plan! So does this apply to all their 2Mbps and above plan? Can bangalore users please confirm their post FUP speeds?

Do they offer their high speed 8Mbps plan in Brookefield, Bangalore? (Transonic 1250 - 60 GB Airtel/KT/FL/13) How is airtel service and downtime is this area?

This FAQ is old. This was for old customers who were on true unlimited plans before FUP was introduced, and were upgraded to FUP plans.

@DarkAngel, Why Airtel?, when you have better options atleast in the City your in? Airtel FUP is so bad, nothing to type even. Please understand one and only one thing, their Customer care services requests and complaints at a speedy rate; also downtime is minimal, even if there is a downtime you can request for a reversal of rent. But this is not the end point in choosing the connection.

AIrtel is anytime better Reliance sucks. I thought that their Thunder 1190 plan would be good with 3Mbps download and 1 Mbps upload but their speed fluctuates. Reliance gives anywhere between 80Kbps to 1 Mbps. Atleast Airtel has steady speeds even though they are bad when it comes to FUP>

Does any provider still offer true unlimited. Even at 1 Mbps. IE; can transact as much as they want on their ports but full duplex throughput will remain 1 Mbps for 30 days running.

Act is an option in my area(I guess) offering 25Mbps for similar FUP limit. But reliability is of utmost importance and I don't want BB to be down for say couple of days every month. If reliance speed fluctuates and downtime is more then it is out of the question.

And according to reports airtel does offer true 8Mbps at steady speed and good ping. I don't think there are any other options offering good speeds with minimal downtime.

I read on some Broadband Forum that TRAI wlll instruct ISPs to change post FUP speed to 2 mbps by 2015

That's according to National Telecom Policy 2012. ISP should offer Minimum Speed of 2mbps (NOT post FUP) to Call it BROADBAND in 2015.

Of course, all the companies would use the opportunity to explain cartel price fixing and increase the pricing on all their plans equally.
