has iPhone 3G been Unlocked

I dont understand why you would want it. Its been sold for about $700 :S

I thought they would be a bit cheaper there. on another thought unlocked iphones are targeted at international buyers and might be costlier.

anyhow, i'm wondering how's renegade's iphone 3g unlocked(in deals thread)? legally unlocked or turbosim?

Isn't it that turbo sim has to stay as a bridge between the original sim card and the phone, all of the time?

or is it, do once and it's unlocked? if so, then we would need to do again and again for next firmwares right?

Must've been factory unlocked like the ones sold in Italy and Hongkong
