"We are all waiting for an update on Windows Phone to WhatsApp, the most popular messaging app in the world.

Instead, what has actually happened is that the current app has been unpublished in the Windows Phone Store, meaning if you were to hard reset your handset, buy a new handset or uninstall the app for some reason, you will not be able to re-install it again.

Hopefully the news is just a little hiccup, and indicative of a much bigger update arriving soon from the Facebook-owning company."

On reading this I headed to Windows Phone Market place for India, where searching WhatsApp resulted in following

Meanwhile original source contains a link in which Windows Phone Market Store, states that App is no longer published .

When I last used it was a real pain. But apparently other users were not facing the same issues as my Focus on windows phone 7. It would load slow, the notifications were not instant and the smileys were not present.

I think it has come a long way since then but removal from market place will seriously hurt the Windows Phone sales. I know people who have bought a smartphone to use whatsapp and share spam in groups.

It is back with an update.

Change log:
- Chat backgrounds
- Broadcast lists
- Privacy settings (settings > account > privacy)
- Media auto-download settings (settings > chat settings > media auto-download)
- Custom notification tones (Windows Phone 8 Update 3 required)
- Various enhancements and bug fixes
