News The entire Assassin's Creed Shadows game got leaked

Someone possibly through illegal methods got their hands on a copy of the PS5 disc and loaded it onto the console, and the entire game was there. I am not going to be posting any links to the leaked gameplay (for copyright reasons) but you can find it if you look for it. It has also been confirmed by Ubisoft. IMO the mechanics and actions look worse than Ghost Of Tsushima.

I actually feel sorry for Ubisoft at this point. They should actually cut their losses, release the game earlier, get bought out, and survive. They waited too long for a Japanese AC game and should have struck when players were clamoring for it. The want for it was fever-pitch. Even if it sucked like Valhalla, it MAY have been a still been a financial success. Ghost of Tsushima came along, as a perfect Japanese would-be AC, and took a giant shit on Ubisoft. Now players don't care anymore.

Also, does anyone know if there are copies of the game out in the open? PC builds specifically. Can't find anything on r/piracy. Err... asking just cause I'm curious.
Edit: Not asking for a source
No there only seem to be PS5 discs which might have been lost or stolen along the supply chain.
Oofff can it get any worse?

I never completed any AC game other than the first one. Latest AC game I played was the one with the twins. Syndicate I think. That too I abandone mid way. I think I tried Brotherhood too before that.

In all of them except the first one, I dunno why but the characters seemed clunky to move. The original AC was very light and fluid. Or perhaps that's my nostalgia colouring the memory. Anyway I guess that's the reason I was never able to complete the game. And not been really excited about any AC releases either. Even Shadows was like a very meh reaction from me. AC2 was the only exception because 1 was just so amazing. But I don't think I ever played it because my PC went kaput and I didn't repair it for a long time.

Tho Ubisoft managed to keep my attention with the Far Cry series. Tried FC3 for the first time a couple of years ago and was hooked. Played through game and the rest of the series in a blaze. Call it formulaic but for me it's a formula that really works. Eagerly looking forward to FC7, which is rumoured to be out next year. Tho if the studio fails because Shadows doesn't do too well, it doesn't look too good for FC7.

Well the initial AC games did have their fair share of problems and clunkiness as you mentioned was one of them, the reason behind it was the parkour system which was pretty much entirely taken from Prince of Persia, it was a boon and a bane at the same time and not for everyone.

That being said what those games might have lacked they more than made up for in terms of the story, the dialogue and the freedom you had while playing them. But after syndicate it all went downhill. Ubisoft in their great wisdom completely abandoned the entire storyline that they had sort of built in favour of "reaching a larger audience" and decided to include microtransactions in a single player game. They fight mechanics also degraded like hell in Valhalla and the entire game was so padded out with pointless side quests that you would have to buy game skips in order to somewhat enjoy the game and not feel like the life getting sucked out of you.

Tho if the studio fails because Shadows doesn't do too well, it doesn't look too good for FC7.
A game can be formulaic and still be enjoyable if the actual formula is done right. Nothing will probably happen to FC, if the company goes under they will probably sell off the IP and the new game will still come out, most probably delayed but it will release.
