Hope I didn't need to SEE kunhar service center in coming 3 yrs!

See what I said

It means Dealer DIDN'T TRUST Mfg. COMPANY ON WARRANTY promise as Terms and Conditions KEEP CHANGING from time to time so they simply leave it on Company, mentioning in Bill "WARRANTY AS PER Manufacturers Terms and Conditions"

Is your 6 yr. old SMPS still Working?

@Eazy: Lifetime doesn't mean your lifetime, it means the product lifetime.

Which basically means they will support it at least till they manufacture that particular product, and maybe (a big maybe) for a little time afterwards. How long afterwards is their discretion.

There is a manufacturer of Amplifiers called Bryston, that has a true lifetime warranty on some of their high end range (8 lakhs+). Until the original owner is alive and in possesion of the amp. That is true lifetime warranty, but no manufacturer is obliged to provide it...

Eazy, reminds me of the good old days of my Asus RivaTNT2 card. there were 2 warranty stickers on the box (like the one there is on BenQ box). Asus wud give 3yrs warranty but right next to it was this sticker form Rashi that claimed '2 years warranty - Only from Rashi" lol..

another time, i wanted to get Logitech MX Duo wireless desktop. Internationally and on the box, it says 5-yr warranty. but Rashi made it very clear to me when my dealer called them up that the same carries only one year warranty in India. for the next 4 years i wud have to send it to Logitech directly.. lol..

may be something similar was the case with BenQ too.. :(

as long as there are no law enforcement to actually punish the dealers/distributors for misleading customers, the sad story's gonna continue..

and i wud never have dared to do wat u did to ur 5k wala mouse :P

@Stick... working.... dunno... must be... I got it after the repairs with what seems to be a heavy transformer or some other part flotting loose inside - scared the sh*t out of me.... went back for repairs and it came back after another week but by then I got myself another SMPS so it has been lying in my cupboard for 5 years.... want it ? its a 350w VIP.

@sangram rak**** ... yes I know that ... most suppliers mean warranty good as long as it is working :)

@TheMask ... must check I have a ASUS TNT2 running on my second computer ... AMD 2000+ .... it runs so smoothly for browsing never felt the need to upgrade it :) Logitech MX DESKTOP HAS A 5 YEAR WARRANTY !! - I bought a MX3000 last year and was told 5 year warranty by the shop !!! DONT SCARE ME as the key board of this 6k desktop set is already giving trouble !! Rashi say send it to Logitech directly after 1 year ? .... never mind ... now where is my sledgehammer !!! :P MAN I ENJOYED slamming that Logitech MX500 on the floor it smashed into little pieces ... WOWEEEEE !! ...... made me feel so gooooood
EDIT: here is the BEST warranty I have seen on paper in India.... will they honour this commitment.... I think so...

Bryston Limited - Music For A Generation
Sorry, brain fart, wasn't Bryston then probably - maybe Thor or Wilson Audio...
Or maybe it WAS Bryston. Let me check and come back to you, this is something that was bought >thirty years ago and is apparently still under warranty.

corsair honors warranty very well that I can say :ohyeah: as when I called Tirupati Enterprises they said no question asked immediate over the desk RMA :hap2:

they told me they even RMA burnt RAM

also Contact u have with the Dealer ... & amount of Profit margin u allow him have Pays a Huge role...

many a times ..they see the bill,Profit margin they have got & give some cheap reason for Replacement ... Sillest i have seen is Load Truck has Still not arrvied,so come back for replacements tomo :@

a bigger dealer might earn a Few Buck More for sure .. Replacements Are faster.

Sometimes the Cheapest Deal is NOT the best Deal

My luck is bad (I think), every time on Forum I ask for anything I didn't find good deal, but the day I purchase it from Market, next day FS thread flood with same product and 2-3 PM for Same. I bought Powersafe (NO VIP any where on sticker or box)

Yes, it is true as I also know about same from my dealer. He said that for Value RAM we will get Table Replacement, same as Eazy seen when White Skin Friend was with him.

I agree with you, my local dealer nearly charge very low but when Service require he ask me to visit him with product, my friend have dealer from Lemington Road, charge Extra than Market Price on Product and Rs.250/- per visit but solve problem just by One call and within 24 hrs.

THATS the story of my life.... everytime I bought some hardware very soon after that the prices drop a lot.... I bought 320GB Hitachi for 5.5k and one month later QM bought same HDD from same dealer for 4.5k :( If you want to buy any hardware wait for me to buy it first and then after a month you buy the same hardware - it will be much much cheaper then :)

VIP was the first brand of SMPS from Kunhar then they got Starnet and next Powersafe.

How abt, you go to the store, ALMOST buy the piece of hardware but dont buy it.

Then go back a month later and buy it for a lesser price :P ?s

Been there .... done THAT .... and one month later price crashes :(

[Suggestion]

i think better solution for all this ... is to indentify a Good Dealer in Each city,& all TE members Buy from those Shops only

Dealer also Happy ... :ohyeah: TE members happy :hap2: & a Good Deal :P
