heyy RoBo n Muzu Stop fighting like this......u both are not accepting each others ...nor going listen to .

so GTX260 core 216 costs 12k via KMD

n 4850 via KMD ? might be 8k+
if thats the case i have gone with GTX260 core 216 ......yeh it's better than 4850 n even beats 4870 in most of games (speacially after drivers 180.42 release)

n if talking abt. loclly .....well 4850 costs 9-12k
n while GTX260 coew 216 19k+
in this case sure for 4850 ....reason simple , better VFM , costs almost half ...... will be eager for 4850CF rather than GTX260 core216 coz 4850 CF is performing very well in m,any games .
core 216 is not 12k around , the stock 192 core , palit and MSI one are 200 $ .

Core 216 would be more around 15k.

Newegg.com - EVGA 896-P3-1265-AR GeForce GTX 260 Core 216 896MB 448-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards

Yesterday the price was around $239. Then it would have been around 14.5k .

These are only approximations I made using 1 USD = Rs. 61 which is around what it comes to with KMD's margin and the shipping charges.

The cheapest 4870 is now $230-$240.

Also I reiterate my question earlier about the the stereographic gaming. Is it really worth it? Has someone tried playing some intense FPS in the stereo mode with 3D glasses?

damn man i was about to order the core 216 and price increased :@ core 216 is 15k around now . it was around 14.5k yesterday . i got quote for 192 one at 12.6k 2 days back .

How stable are the doubled scores? Across all games? Have the sporadic issues with CF not scaling on a few titles ceased?

^^Sudarshan needs to learn to count better....

i have said GTX260 core 216 @ 12k through KMD

as RoBoGhOsT earlied said it ..........n he has ordered it ;)

n any time if GTX260 core 216 is for 12k ..i will prefer it .

EDIT : n now in above post RoBoGhOsT is saying price have incresed

lol GTX core 216 was never 12k ! Man try to understand the posts .....sheesh and find the total end user price!

Its arnd 201$(tigerdirect) or so...will cost arnd 12600 or so shipped to your house for the GTX 260 192 SPs. For the GTX 260 216 core its still arnd 260-299$ depending on promotions. So that translates from 16-18k.Afaik a 4870 512MB at 230$ is as good an option as a 200-210$ GTX 260. Better though is to wait for a day or two for some black friday deal and possibly sneak a GTX 260 216 SPs or a 4870 512MB for arnd 250$ (15k or so). The extra memory/SPs will make it worth it for the future :D

that logic wont work because even for a 280 you would need a high end psu.

Well either way. The price drops can f*ck themselves. I am fed up of the waiting. I have ordered a 4870 Sonic 512Mb .

Be prepared for some bottlenecking with that processor of yours.

guys which cheap cf mobo can take care of two 4830's well and make them run tht fast to beat 280??

also there are different pcie configs like ..two 8x or one 16x other 8x

so consioderin all tht...which is the best vfm cf board

^^^I dont think for these cards the bandwidth of 8x lanes will be a bottleneck. Do wait for sometime and let the reviews flow in but judging by the specs, even a cheap mobo which will support 8x on both slots in crossfire should be enuf.

Oh yea. Of course. I can see exactly how much it bottlenecks since there will be some gap between me getting the GPU and later upgrading the Proccy.

Maybe I will post some results here. Will be a first on TE I think. Running Crysis with 4870 and a Pentium D :). According to the official "requirements" my proccy is just below the minimum reqs for Crysis in XP in terms of GHz. ( Intel Pentium 4 (2.8GHZ for XP ; 3.0GHZ for Vista) )
