cheapest possible one is asus iirc....but it is limited to 720p only....go with wd for about ~7k if price is ur concern...else take xtremer...theoritically xtreamer supports more formats and profiles....thouch my relative's wd has also played almost all that i have thrown at it....barring a few....some without audio.....and some wont play at all...m-jeri said:

My requirements are..
1. It should play all the oodles of formats possible.. atleast popular ones in usual *cough* sources.
And i will be connecting the optical out to z5500. so it should play all the correct sound formats..
2. It should have wireless networking. N ones preferred.
3. It should support a USB hub.. very crucial for me to support my multiple ext HDD's.
4. Any ways a Ext DVD drive to be attached to play from them DVD's?.
5. A very good remote. One reason i am not into WD players. .
6. Auto playlist options and all... basically a feature rich firmware.

It does everything the POHD does with the exception that it does not have 802.11n. If it comes with warranty, it is a kick ass deal!
