Hd is giving me problem . Had just installed xp . First thing i noticed was it got slow. Then it made rattling noise. Then bsod occured. Bad sector problem i recon.
Need to ask one thing - will full format n reinstall help in this matter - never had this prob , so what do you suggest , ppl. Pl reply some1

Error comes up during bios booting - hd smart : bad, backup, replace . - press f1 to continue.
 
The rattling noise from the harddisk indicates that the harddisk is going kaput. Try and recover as much data as you can by connecting it to another machine as secondary drive or booting through a live cd and get the harddisk replaced.
