I've a WD5000AAVS drive which was ripped off the WD MyBook Home Ed.
HD Tune shows up the following status:
There're no bad sectors though!
I did run a quick warranty check on the drive using the serial no. and fortunately, its under warranty till June 2011.
Seems like WD has an RMA procedure specified at their website. There's a space provided for mentioning the reason (in not more than 30 letters!).
1. Would "High spin-up time" qualify for an RMA?
2. How should I go about with the RMA procedure? Someone who's already gone thru the hassles can guide me on the same.
TIA
