I Have Seem Many Members Having Really Bad Problems And Some Experts Suggesting Very Stupid Answers .We Are Professionals Into Data Recovery And HDD Repairs ,I Would Like To Shed Light On Some Of the HDD Technical Details You Guys Would Not Have a Idea of .
1 :Your Logic Board If Dead ,Replace With Identical Drive Will Work (Wrong)
Not Always ,If You Feel That there Is No Part Which Has Malfunctioned And Is Not Getting Hot ( Not Short circuited ) and you can replace this with other logic card ,this May and May Not Work ,You Have To Be Carefull As Interting same logic board but of different revision could screw up the HDD's head beyond general repair
2 :Understand Your Logic Board
Most Logicv boards Contain a Microcontroller ,Memory(Ram) ,Motor Control IC And Voice Coil control IC (Head Control IC) .Also On The Board Is Power Supply circuit and Ic which Reduce The Input Voltage To 2.5 or 3.3 Volts For Functioning of certian parts of the hdd.
3 :My HDD Is Not Recognised in BIOS or If detected By different Name
Welcome Aboard ,Using Dedicated Hardware Instrruments your Logic Board Could Be Programmed again to Work Again 100% Properly ,Yes its Possible And I Have Equipment For The Same .
4 :My HDD Has Bad Sectors
Using Advanced Dedicated Repair Hardware It Is Possible to Relocate the BAD Sectors in The EPROM of The Logic Board so That you See Your HDD Defect Free .Yes All HDD Have Bad Sectors ,Its Just You Cannot See Them
5 :My Hard Disc Is Misbehaving
Like Showing different Capacity and Doing !@!@#$! things .You Have Not Set The GB Barrier Jumper ,This Also Could Be Rectified By Dedicated Repair Equiptment
6 :My HDD Is @@#$#@$ Beyond Repairs [ It Knocks ]
Humm Guys you though This Was Not Repairable ,Think again ,this Too Is Repairable .The Heads Of The HDD Could Be changed ,This Problem Also Could Be that the HDD Head is Not Able To Relocate Itself .this situation is Also Repairable by Dedicated Hardware Repair Equiptment
