i wanna buy new HDD - 7200 RPM - 3GB/s - SATA2....plz lemme know prices of foll:

80GB
160GB
200GB
250GB
300GB
320GB

which co. i shud go for ?....seagate ??

all drives come with 5 year warranty.

btw, the 250GB (WD2500AAKS) is available on DirectPCmall for arnd 2500+shipping+VAT - 2700(approx.)

Also,whts the warranty as magnet asked ?
 
5 years warranty :). The guy at the shop called up the distri and confirmed it. Its also mentioned on the bill.

..i wonder why

..i'm in the market for a 500gigger..but i wonder when it will be under 5000.

When's the 1TB due ?
 
a yr or two for the 500GB to be around 5k !!!

thought the 1TB was going to be out in a cpl of months and the price of the 500GB would drop as a result.
 
btw whats the scene abt seagate..7200.11 disc????

heard it will release in september.....any news abt it??
 
so i guess its right to buy 500gb now since 2 250gb also cost the same...any more mumbai guy in for the same????might go with cheapest so wd may be
 
why not run 2 sata disks in raid 0 if you don't have any reason not to do so ( like say looking to house it in an ext casing/constraints of putting 2 more disks in cabinet, lack of free sata ports etc.).

2 sata disks in raid 0 wud be blazingly fast.I guess almost on par or even better than the WD raptors.
 
Has the 7200.10 Seagate series stabilised yet with all sort of problems from China made motor making more sounds et al it wa shaving? compared to the Hitachi one?

When is 7200.11 releasing?

i'm using Hitachi 320GB with 16MB Cache since January 2007 without any problems 'Touch Wood' :)
 
M thinking of picking up a 250GB HDD 4m lamington rd 2moro...cash ain't limited...need the best *fastest/coolest/quitest* :P

What do U guys suggest ???

Nebody sells WD Raptors in Lamington road ???
