Hi all..

I need to know few things abt the HDMI out in Dell Laptops.

When i connect it to a LCD, it detect and outputs video to it. and in settings i have selected 1920 res.
But the video on screen is framed. like it got black borders on 4 sides. how to get the video to full screen?

And the audio is also routed to LCD. how to avoid that?.

Anyways to get 5.1 sound using a external sound card?

Right click 'sound' symbol go to playback devices. disable Digital output and set as default device your sound card which is installed.

About the borders, hmm ive got somewhat same issue in my new led ! i got ati and 40"

u mean from ati to the led via hdmi..

mine also ati 5470.. :S..

bump...

got it.... its the overscan/underscan option.

set it to 0% and all done.

even my nvidia 8600GT on my XPS lappy shows borders when connected to my bravia. U can stretch it perfrectly on ATI/Nvidia control panel.

@ m-jeri..i have the same borders on ATI 5470 and samsung 40'..Will try your trick to see if it works..For sound,AFAIK, you can configure the sound output in the device manager.
