yeah :)

earlier i was not ready for international deals, i knew that the matrix m-stage was a better choice. :(

The maverick D1 have pretty good synergy with the K702 , but they are slightly, slow in the bass region.

Also yeah i feel A good DAC is must, for something as good as K702.

they sure improve by a wide margin with better DAC and AMP !

The tube section on the A1 is driven by 2 Raytheon tubes. I am yet to come close to the perfect sound, however these have been one of my favourites. Considering that I had been listening to some top end gears. The only reason I do not wish to review products is because I am a dealer/distributor and it would not be ethically correct. If we have some serious and keen people auditioning these, that would be amazing.

The D1 are driven by transistors for headphone out. The Tubes drive the A1 and you will know why tubes are so much sought after!

Am not just talking about the D1 here.

Now i use the HM602 as the DAC and use the D1's amplifier for amplification.

WIth it i notice a quite an improvement in soundstage depth, more over HM602 > D1 > K702 is pretty good synergy wise .

You are using the Line out of the Tubes from D1! They are meant for the Power Amps and certainly not meant to be used as an Headphone Amp, that is the reason why you would have felt that the bass is a bit thin! I never knew that the Line Out of the tubes could drive something as demanding as AKG K702! Bravo. However I would still strongly recommend A1. A1 has headphones amps stage which are 2 matched pair tubes. Another stage is for the transistor out which is for the Speakers. The D1 was compliment to A1. The Tube out of D1 was matched for Line in for A1.

Pardon my noobness, but how do you bypass the D1's dac and use it as an amp?
Analogue in >> Tube Out from the D1. BYPASS the DAC! :) Now bridge the Line Outs with 6.3 mm headphone terminators/jacks. Check the website. It has two separate stages. The DAC which is an Headphone Amp and Tube Out which is supposed to be Line Out for the Pre Amp section. Using tubes for the headphone amps was never recommended by Maverick Audio!

^^ :O

pardon my noobness but,

why not use the headphone out while using the line-in . thats what i do !

HM602 < 1/8"to1/4" cable >< line-in of D1 > ampliication of D1 <headphone out of D1 > K702

i do get amplification :(

If that be the case you are using the transistor amp and not the tube pre amp! In fact that is recommended setup for the D1.

@b3nny: Line in bypasses the DAC! Only time the internal DAC of the D1 comes into play is when you use the Digital Input for D1.

How does the DAC play part in the analog signal !!

i mean yeah the the signal may pass through the circuit but there is no way it will pass through the opamp ( right ? ) ( D1 has 2 opamps, one for DAC another for AMP )

anyways, the soundstage improvement from using the D1 alone and using the above setup is clear so, i can tell the k702 will improve with a better DAC.

I need a Good DAC for my Miracle as well ( its not that i am buying the DAC for K702 alone. )

EDIT : this reply was meant to benny

@pristinenote, i dont really dig in to tube sound. I am more of a SS guy. I mean i like neutral and transparent sound. (well i have not heard much tube amps but still from what i have heard, i prefer SS )
