Hi all,

I want to buy two headphones one around 1.5k and another around 2.5k.
Cant use speakers. lot of problems?:mad: (I need two, so dont merge the budget for one, one is for my cousin)

my priority is like this Music>movies>games.

And also where can i buy those (suggested ones) in hyderabad.

there are these headphones from GRADO...called the SR 60...
they are supposed to be the best in sub $100 range..but i really doubt if they wud be available here in india..
anyone else knows where i can find some Grados??

sorry, for going slightly OT..
but the Sennheiser PX-100 are just under 3k if i'm right, and are supposed to be very good for that price...check them out..

theitdepot.com has a good range of headphones, but currently the site is under construction..
will give u some more suggestions for ur price range later..

er, i've no idea about the 2.5k price bracket... no experience in that price range:D .If i were going shopping with 2.5k for phones... I'd buy something smaller.. Personally, I'm through buying big earphones.. I have a pair of Isound I860 MVI's ... they feel like a pair of millstones on my head . my next pair of headphones would be a pair of in ear monitors. The sennheisr CX 300 seems like a good canidate. The indian distributor is asking 7K for a pair tho:no: but can get them abroad for 2.5k... chaos did sometime back

the philips hp 800/805 MRP at abt 1400.. can get em cheapr

the 840 is MRP'd at 1800.. goes for cheaper... check the dealers in your area :)
 
a month back, the HP805 were available for 1200/- ad Odyssey and Walden. U can check em out if they r still available.

Sony mdr-xd200 are available for 1500 at the sony world and they r a grt pair of budget cans.

Couple of days back, I was also on the lookout for the Grado SR-60s and 80s. Sellers in B'lore gave me a weird stare and went Grado what?? :). Was really pissed off that I couldn't find Sennheisers too(even wrote a mail to the company.) I finally settled for a pair of Labtec 840 Elite cans from Planet M on Brigade road. They're ok for general purpose but not worth the 2,500/- price tag(they should be priced more like Rs 800/- or 900/-.

I think the sony XD-200s would be nice. I've heard the XD-100s. Quite bassy(but most sony headphones are) and sound(instruments) detail is compromised. I listen to a lot of english rock music so I guess it would not be the best for this kind of music. Hindi and regional music(or rather music with more vocals) sounded quite good though.
I would advice to go with the XD-200s as they cost about Rs 400/- more that XD-100s(Please give me your f/b if you do cuz I'm looking to get one myself :) ). I read somewhere that they are made in Korea(and not China) but I'm not sure. Check out Panasonic too. Try and get at least some Japanese built headphones.

What Chaos, Zhopudey, Amol etc. (all other sound masters) say??
 
i got a MDX 100 from sony world near clock tower sec'bad a few months ago(on Smith's suggestion).They r good for general music with emphasis on vocals.

dude we've given you options for both budgets, what more do you want?
