PC Peripherals Headphones

ohh, sorry for the late reply. :ashamed: I'm getting a pair of senns soon, so won't be needing these. I got them for 1195/-, and will let them go for 1k.

@Zhopudey - But I think, now they are available for less than 1.1k.:p

@Greenhorn - Thanx, so its final that for <1.5k its HP 805?;)

I did some searching on TE and got a comment from Amol

The best value for money headphones if you buy in india are the philips HP 840, if you are willing to take good care of them, cause they break easily. For music of course, in my opinion they are a little better than the Philips HP 890 that i used to have a while back. The 890s had flabby bass, owing to the ultra large 50 mm drivers. The 840s use the same driver mechanism with a 40mm set, providing much tighter bass response.
Although the 840s dont have as huge a soundstage the 890s did, in my opinion they sounded more accurate.

What do you say about HP 840?

Also i didnt get the option for 2.5k!!

Sadly....there arent too many options available in the budget range in here. If you can find HP 840 in here still, because it's probably discontinued now, buy it without even thinking. They are amazing....for the money of course.

HP 890 are awesome too. You fall in love with the design and the bass, although sloppy,imperfect.....its voluptous, something like a little overweight babe with the right curves..

Else I guess you are only limited to Philips HP805. Avoid the low range sony headphones at all costs...they are mostly overpriced and have bad sound quailty, except for a few models, like V6 - which are not available in India sadly.

You might want to think about a pair of In-Ear monitors for 2.5kish range if you can compromise on the design and the comfort a bit.

I personally use the XD 200s ... got them for 1490 in sony world. If u wanna use them in ur home then i think these are the best ones around for this budget (forget them as replacement for ur Ipods as these are huge, unless u are interested in attracting some crowd :bleh: They are huge!). BTW, i couldnt drive these things with my old P3 mobo.. i was forced to connect My PC to my Hi-Fi system to drive these babies! So keep this in my mind if u wanna use the onboard headphone jack on ur mobo.

How does the Senn HD201 compare against the others that've been mentioned on this thread under the 1.5K range..
I read some really rave about these cans on almost every site I checked 'em on & personally speaking..I'm impressed!!:hap2:
Some audiophiles pls share your views!! :)

Cheers!!:eek:hyeah:

hey guys!

I decided finally, its like this:

1. for 1.5k either HP 805 or XD 200

2. for 3.0k XD 300

Is it a good decision?

Hyderabadi guys, Please help me yaar, I need to buy these today itself, I dont know any shop, please give me the address of the shops where i can get them. Also a shop for Audigy 2 value.

Thanx a lot.

Planet-M's usually tend to have the Philips headphones, so guess you could atleast find those there! About the Sony, not too sure - guess you could get those at a Sony World?
