PC Peripherals Headset recommendations needed

Why USB headsets specifically?

Anyway, Logitech has 2 USB headset models for around 2.5k. The Premium 250 and 350. Guess those should be good enough.

SteelSound 5H is available too, but its around 6K.

bcoz i primary use my creative 5.1 speakers so headphones will be used sometimes, that why usb.

What abt Altec Lansing AHS302USB headset ?

Will the quality decrease bcoz of USB use ?

If i take non-usb, then which is better around 2.5k
 
Most speakers usually have a headphone jack, so you can plug in headphones as well. If yours isnt equipped with one, you could get a cable splitter for your front channel - use one to drive your headphones, the other for your speakers.

The Altec AHS302USB looks decent too, a nice advantage is that it comes equipped with both USB as well as regular analog connectors. Havent heard either so cant comment on them :ashamed:

Sound quality wont necessarily decrease if you use USB, rather since you're taking the DAC part out of the computer there would be less noise due to EMI. Of course sound quality still depends on what kind of implementation they use for their DAC.

Non-USB Headsets for under 2.5k - no clue. If looking for just a headphone (i.e. one without a mic), the Sennheiser HD202 is a good choice IMO.
 
As Crazy_eddy said the HD202s are the only decent ones that'll come in your budget. Other good headphones are the HD485s, 515s, and HD555s but theyre all from 4-6k range. If you can source from US, get the best Grado in your budget, you can't go wrong with them. They are the best budget headphones as far as i know.
 
I second that..the quality of these headphones is better than average and most importantly, they are VERY comfortable. You wont feel a hint of irritation even after using it for a looong period of time...

Which of the following headphones are the best for my needs ?

Altec Lansing AHP712i

Philips SBC HP250

Philips SBC HP805

Philips SBC HP840

SONY MDR-XD300

SONY MDR-XD200

SONY MDR-XD100

Sennheiser headphones not available in my city so I am left with Altec Lansing, Philips or Sony

My needs: comfortable to wear, good bass, good sound quality.
 
I say SONY MDR-XD300 as it's the best of the lot

but if you can arrange a Sennheiser HD485 from USA or UK it would be the best
