PC Peripherals Heatsink Poll.

SI-120.

Been using it for a month now. Nice and cool.

I run my TT 120mm LED fan at 2k rpm only. Dead silent and keeps even overclocked dual core cool.
 
I've said this before but I'll say it again - you guys have to realize *there is no best* anything... there are high-quality components, the OK/VFM components and the crappy ones you need to stay away from :)

TT Big Typhoon, CNPS9500, Scythe, XP-90/120 & SI-120 are the best money can buy and they fall in the same category - the CNPS9500 is the most expensive @ $75, however, it's performance does not supersede the others.

More importantly, these heatsinks will have different results in different computers - if the cooling in your case already sucks, don't expect a huge improvement when you add an aftermarket heatsink.

That's my two cents...
 
I just ordered TT Big Typhoon from FrozenCPU..costs me $102(including shipping)..I think its the best :) I had enough of the stock heatsink :P N bongcooling is just too much to maintain..looking forward to big typhoon will post pics here when i get it!
 
Yo guys not to hurt anyone's feeling here but... this makes no sense... I mean Very few of mentioned Heatsinks are with Members to actually vote. I still have TT-BT (yes :D) so my vote goes to it. Scythe Ninja is also a super solution.

Taking your point lets see...

I have an Alpha (Made in Japan) HSF ... very well made but not for new Sockets - no vote for it.

I have 2 Thermalrights SK6 and AX-7 too old - do not fit on new MoBos - no vote for them

I am now running a Zalman 7000cu - very good temperatures on my Intel 478 board but does not fit on 939 and 775 boards - no vote for it

On impulse picked up a Cooler Master Hyper 48 - have it for 2 months but not used yet so dont know if any good. - no vote for it.

I still vote for the Scythe Ninja !! :D

OH MAN ... you dont know the half of it.... there is not a single friend of mine in USA who will not quitely come to India for a holiday making sure I dont know about their visit - even my closest buddy did that 2 months back ...... you know why :ohyeah: because I always ask them to bring me the newest biggest heaviest HSF !!! :ohyeah: I asked a niece to bring me the Thermalright SI-120 3 months back and she was on the phone like - "what did you say" ..... "the line is not clear"..... "I will call you back" ...... my foot she called back !!!!

The NEXT friend/cousin/uncle/aunt coming from USA to India is GOING TO bring me the Scythe Ninja !!! I am keeping a close track on all of them !!
 
I like my XP-90 but I think I messed up the installation, temps are at 50 degrees idle. Thts sick, i need to reinstall the HSF

50c at idle!!! OMG!!!

EDIT: Just remembered that you have a Preschot :P So, then I guess it is ok.....

My idle on the dual Prescotts are 44.. load 63 - 65 :bleh:

He did mess up. Im not even using AS5.

Getting AS5 soon though...
