Well planning to get my first helmet as i feel comfortable in riding bike plus will get my license within few days.......

Was going through xbhp and team bhp.......Came out with names of helmet and their price...but a lot messy there to get information from where to buy plus not many decent shops look to be here in mumbai...so please suggest one

ALso which one to go with(helmet)??

My budget is ard 2-3k

But wont mind to extend uptill 5-6k....after seeing agv & daijya helmets....

But it would be better if i stick lower so that i can spend remaining on modding-repairing my rx135.......

Vega, studds speilberg, agv and daijya are the one from which ill buy..so i need all under one roof to have a look...

Any suggestion guys...also picts of your helmet is welcome so that i can make my decisions

i m a noob in this.

I did saw a shop containing many helmets only when travelling from mumbai central-E to heera panna in taxi.Looks good ,also they were established in some 198* yr.

^ Premjis' , thats one place where u can check out a lot of helmets. but its a lil expensive than the street prices.

@ Magnet : where do you stay ?

A.A. Helmets : Goregoan , Link Rd.
A.M. Helmets : Andheri W, Link Rd.
Funky's : Bandra, Pali Hill
Crash Crash Boom Boom (something) : Bandra, Around Pali / Hill Rd. (not sure, only heard)

Don't go for looks when it comes to helmets, looks is a bonus though,
check out the VEGA BOOLEAN, decent build , good helmet....try and check it out....if it doesnt bother with your *chin* its a decent buy.

Else you could stick with the AGV series. Although the old AGV's were the best. As a starter helmet AGV is good. The daijya (read : alien look) helmets are overpriced IMO and are preety heavy. So unless you have a real huge build skip it. \

AGV's have the best availbility of visors. Nice quality , anti glare and preety abuse/ scratch resistant. Skip other foreign brands where availbility of visors would be an issue. I remember a friend buying a new helmet just cause he wouldnt find a visor for his vemar road style helmet.

hope this helps...

p.s. if going for AGV stick to the ones with the blue interior padding.

I have a spare helmet lying at home. An AGV. Bought it from somewhere near Bombay Central (forgot the name of the place). It has been used only once, when I went for a trip to Hampi. I bought it for 3.8 K. From a shop opposite Alibhai Premji near Mumbai Central. Haven't been riding for a while, so was thinking of selling / giving it away. So let me know if you are interested. I will post close up pics later if you want.

Alibhai Premji street is a good place to look for helmets.

Here is a picture of three helmets purchased from that street. A Dajiya and two AGVs

i chkd out both A.A helmets and A.M. helmets mentioned above...
i needed a huge one...for my xxl head...
nothin A.M. had fit me..

finally got an arrow (MPA) dirt style from A.A....(for 1.1k) was like the only one he had that fit me...i like the looks too...

he was tellin me that he is plannin to shift his shop....dunno if he's moved yet..

u can call them up..
