Help Buying GFX Card that can run GTA4 on 1024x768 with med or low settings

I am a casual gamer. Play more CS. Also, do play Assassins Creed, Crysis, etc.

Processor : i3-530 2.93Ghz
RAM : 2GB DDR3
PSU : Intex 400W Normal PSU
MOBO : Intel DH55TC

Graphic card under 3k-4k as i am not planning to change PSU.

MSI R6570 1GB GDDR3 @ 4.3k

Fits your budget, very low power consumption.

Although, if you are using Win Vista/7, then the 2GB ram will limit you a lot.

^^ Don't even try that until you have a wild streak of Michael Bay inside of you, itching to get that next big explosion scene going so before buying your graphics card recommend you get a

FSP Saga II 400W ~ 1900/- [and not come back crying on the forum that our advice screwed your PC]

Apart from that try to accommodate a AMD HD 6670 graphics card ~ 5500/- [elder sibling to the HD 5670 gets a decent bump in performance too, here are a few reviews -- AMD Radeon HD 6670 1 GB Review - Page 26/26 | techPowerUp, Sapphire Radeon HD 6670 Review - Page 13 - Power, Temps and Conclusion]

It might work but why risk it, get the PSU first and graphics card later. One member posted about his GF8 series card dying because of a faulty PSU

Going for ATi HD5670 512MB GDDR5 ~ Rs.3900/-

FSP SAGA II 400W ~ Rs.1900

Also getting ADATA DDR3 1333MHz 2GB ~ 700rs

So it will be

Processor : i3-530 2.93Ghz

RAM : 4GB DDR3

Will i be able to play games @ 1024X768 @ medium settings?

It's not 80 plus rated, but a decent performing PSU and clears the 80plus efficiency. FSP Saga II 500W is recommended over 400W unit. and you'll be able to play GTA 4 on almost High settings on 1024x768.

Rest games would run in Ultra High settings :)

Its not 80+ certified. This means that its efficiency should be varying between 75% to 80%. And if you are concerned with your electricity bill only then efficiency matters, else this PSU is fine for future upgrades (Max with a graphic card equivalent in power consumption to 6850) If in future you are planning to get any higher end card above 6850, then you need to spend a lot more. But for the system you have mentioned a few posts above, I think FSP saga 400 should be fine as well. FSP 500 would be more than enough to power a rig having 5670 in it.

The second option is a good choice IMO... Upgrade ram and take 512mb 5670 if you will be gaming at lower reso as mentioned by you earlier.

Just my suggestion.. see if you can increase your budget

2gb ram ddr3 = 750/-

fsp saga 400 = 1900/-

6670 1gb = 5200/- (This was the price at which my friend got it from lammy just 3 days ago... not from prime though ;))

should i go for 5670 1gb version for 4600rs or get a 512mb version for 3900 and upgrade ram from 2gb to 4gb?

Get the AMD HD 5670 / 6670 with 512 MB GDDR5 memory, it will be more sensible than the a 1GB GDDR3 version.

RAM you can upgrade if you feel a pressing need, otherwise hold onto 2GB RAM and upgrade your SMPS to a FSP Saga II 400W atleast ~ 1900/- OR a Seasonic S12D 430W ~ 3000/-. This will be a better step-up than more RAM and it'll secure the future of your PC.
