aww.come on.. how much slimmer will it possibly get than the LCD.. are u saying u gonna have space issues with a thickness diff. of say about an Inch or something?? especially, why be so obsessed with slimness in this budget???

i thought people wanted LED coz its brighter and has a wider viewing angle!!!

^ ya mate, finally i am zeroing on it. Is there any chance of getting letsbuy coupon, that would be very helpful, as my budget is tight.

Guys currently confused between AOC 19" Wide e951F and the one from DELL, please advice

AOC has only one year warranty which makes dell a no brainer ,

Previously CRT monitors were highly reliable , mine lasted for 8 years ! .

But nowadays dead pixels and all sort of problems are there , plus dell's service center is smooth .

And in case you go for a Dell , straightaway use a DVI digital cable , if you ' re planning to use it on VGA

Trust me I have it , its not worth it .

Dont know if this post helps as you already seem to have decided

but anyways cheers n congrats

And i will be using a DVI cable. Are you using this same monitor??

Yes I am using the same monitor . HD movies look awesome ! . Though I havent seen samsung or any other monitor so cant compare . It's awesome till it works ,

But as usual am an unfortunate person , having random dead pixels already ! .

Just bought it in 16 december . I contacted dell and initially for my argument they agreed to replace with a new piece because I just bought the monitor a couple months ago but now again on another call they told me may be I will be getting a replaced one .

This is disheartening . Lets see how it goes ! .

But hey you are not me so you can go for it , one more point , dont be surprised if the brightness is kinda blinding first time

Reduce it , this is the case with all monitors . They are very bright even at stock 75 % settings .

Btw I dont know if am wasting ur time because am sure you do your research , but no harm i guess .

Cheerio

#harry_houdini, hey mate you are not wasting my words, these words for a user are valuable in my research.

Right now i am thinking of getting this.

I doubt if i will be getting it locally, so i will have to get it from dealers or from letsbuy, buts isn't the chance of getting one with dead pixel increase in these case, as i can't personally check the monitor before packing.

Yes thats right , but if aint available locally then I guess you should take a chance from letsbuy .

See if you can get coupons , though i looked for them but currently cant find any .

Before there used to be 5 % or 10 % off ones .

Dead pixels sometimes dont appear easily ! , you can use the software called " Dead Pixel Buddy " to make it easy to find dead pixels . But it will consume time and I dont think any dealer will allow such time or opportunity for you to check so long .

So I guess you have to take a chance . I am not for extending budgets because a person can keep on extending budgets for everything n ...

If i were you I would have saved some bucks and waited a couple of months so budget is not upset and gone with Samsung and then Dell . See the comparison ratio of Dell and Samsung monitors having a problem and you ll know what am telling , why dont you put up a poll here . But again Samsung one is expensive but a good margin . So go for Dell .

But I guess Dell will whitewash Samsung in a few years , dell monitors are flooding the market !! .

But again Dell's service seems very good even if they might give a replacement monitor, lets see how it goes . If you wanna know I ll tell you after I get my Replacement .

Hope its a new one !! .
