seagate has got a bad reputation off late. I have come across many threads saying that the seagate drive died on them. and probably they have a good RMA policy, but still if your drive dies, you lose all the data + all the mental agony you will have to go through.
I was serious about buying a seagate 7200.12 drive but after i repeatedly found members posting on forums about their dead drives, i decided to go for WD only.
Even WD is not perfect, but off late the seagate drives have caused lot of problems, which is my point here.
remember, a seagate firmware upgrade had actually bricked the hard drives..
