Help decide home theatre

I dont find it pretty justified if i am not mistaken , is it just the wattage difference which makes s550 cost so much , isnt the sound quality also supposed to be much better , because if sound quality is getting compromised in da5000pro i am not very game for it ...... i currently own a 75 watt philips HT 10 watt each satellite and 25 watt subwoofer , its approx 5 years old had paid arnd 5k then , and it also is pretty good , i m looking for a good upgrade so will DA5000 pro be worth it , and how different is da5000 pro from da5000 (bcoz one of cybers here has a da5000 and i can audition them over there).
Please clear my doubts .
 
you started the thread with heading help to decide home theater.buddy If you are looking for a complete home theater experience you can't get it from a multimedia speaker system.

da5000pro and s550 have very big difference in design.

s550 subwoofer comes with passive radiators.it gives more quality bass comparing with ported subwoofer.s550 satelite speakers are excellent but the center speaker is short on high frequency it affects the sound.

the most important part of home theater is soundstage but s550 produces average soundstage in small room.if you buy s550 you will get surprise if you are new to big speakers.but s550 has got some disadvantages which may really affect movie experience and music listening.

disadvantages of s550=poor soundstage,low watts of satelite speakers comparing with big subwoofer.

if you are buying a system for long term use then think different and spend some extra money.

what I am saying is from my experience.
 
well i m xactly askign for help :) , wher i have decided on anything....... i never said looking for a complete home theater experience what i am looking for is xactly a good experience , whats the use of upgrading if they dont sound much better than my current one , that was xactly the reason i asked if spending 8k is justified on a DA5000 pro if i can get a much better sounding system at 15k-18k ,

i have not yet xperienced even good surround sound experience so far so anything even 50 percent better will awe me for sure , by long term if ur referring 1-2 years yeah i wont be changing them before that .

Your first statement has really confused me though "you started the thread with heading help to decide home theater " , where have i said i dont need help :-O

I didn't mean that.the heading means you need a home theater so I tried my best to help.From my experience you just buy the da5000(not pro).You will get all you needs and don't lose your money.You will get good experience from it and you xonar dx will do all the works for you.its a good combination.
 
for 10k range da5000pro is the right choice IMO

for sound stage ...your xonar dx card will take care of it..dont worry :)

Agreed..true quality home theaters will cost u more than 30/35k
