My PC Config follows :

MotherBoard : Intel DP55KG

OS : Windows XP SP3

RAM : 2x2 4GB Transcend 1333

HD : Seagate 1 TB

Graphics : XFX GTX 260 Black Edition (Overclocked)

PSU : Corsair vx550w

Cabinet : Cooler Master CM 690

Monitor : DELL S2409W

I don't have any problems while browsing or editing images, the problem is in while gaming, the only problem is I cant accelerate any vehilcles :/

I installed GRID, NFS MW, PS and Hard Truck, GTA but i cant accelerate

when I press "UP" to move, its moving but only for like 5 seconds and its slowing down and stops and then I have to press it again for another 5 seconds. The vehicle is not moving if I HOLD the UP key for longer :/

I checked with 3 keyboards and changed different acceleration key but its not working :/

Please help me to solve this issue, this is the only problem I have and I bought this PC on Nov 23, 2009 , just 2 days past :/

Please Please Help me :(

Thank You

Replace the keyboard and check use the W key on the keyboard and check. Remap the acceleration to another key on keyboard and check. Reply back how it goes.

Replaced the keyboard with 3 different brands, changed the keys to W and changed the different USB ports but its still the same :/

GRID is opening in 1080 resolution without any errors, its crystal clear but I cant drive the vehicle :/

Real strange one this is

Do you have issues in GTA while u walk a Nico Belic (UP or W key)

or is it only while driving

EDIT:

Now i remember, I had a similar issue in GTA4

where i try to walk after loading a save file, it just doesnt let me to

It was due to a trainer, do you have any trainer running on background

is there any antivirus/antispyware running in the background?

i faced similar problem due to my anitvirus, it used to alert me saying that the application is behaving like a keylogger and used to block keystrokes to the game.

so check your antivirus. it may be blocking it and may not be alerting you or you may have disabled alerts.

if this aint the case, then try gaming with a controller (XBOX 360 or alike)

I can walk without problems but when walking .. holding UP key and when need to turn left, I pressed Left key and then He stops, so I have to press the UP key again (i.e UnHOLD the UP Key and press it again after pressing the left key)

Driving in GTA is same like every game.. just a few steps, its reaches to MAX and drops to 1 (in Speedameter)

No, I just reformatted the XP so I didnt installed any Antivirus :/

I dont have any Xbox controller, even if i got one and played well but then what is the reason for my pc to act like this :(

Seriously.. the GRID looked awesome but I cant drive any of them :/

Please help me

try elcheapo usb gamepad available for Rs.100-150 to c if keyboard is actually the problem...or try changing gfx card (i dont think thrz ne prob with it but still)...get it some frnd for some time and check if problem persists....

I think its the USB ports of your computer. Check your keyboard in somebody else's computer with your gfx card plugged in. If it works, you know its the USB ports.

Also, open up your cabinets and check the USB connections from the mobo to the cabinet. If need be, try changing one of the cables and then try your keyboard.

Maybe the sticky keys are on?

1. If you are on Windows 7, press Shift 5 times or until a Sticky keys prompt comes up.

2. Next, click on the "Go to the Ease of Access Center to disable the keyboard shortcut.

3. Uncheck everything. Apply & OK

4. Click on Start menu and type filter, click on the first link (Ignore repeated keystrokes using filterkeys) which will appear as you type.

5. Turn off or toggle whichever option you need.

:)

Lol! ^^ That really looks like the crux of the problem here!

Nice one Anish, on the sticky Keys solution! :)

This is a keyboard issue, likely. In a lot of cases keyboards do not communicate when two keys are simultaneously pressed, so you can't really do two things at the same time (your GTA issue, turning left while driving) - it's quite difficult to use this kind of keyboard for gaming. Try and see if alternate keypresses work - toggling rapidly between keypresses will tell you if it's a keyboard issue.

I usually solve this by changing out the keyboard. A lot of basic keyboards have this issue, such as my generic Logitech PS/2 keyboard and my Microsoft Cordless Desktop Elite. It is not limited to cheap keyboards, FWIW.

Low-cost keyboards I can confirm working are the Logitech New Touch USB (terrible key action, but is fne for temp use) and the Microsoft Comfort Curve. Of course most gaming keyboards will be fine too.

wooahhh.. hopefully you can relate to this... had exactly the same problem with GTA IV.. had done two things on an experimental basis to get rid of the problem although not in the right chronological order.. :ohyeah::ohyeah::ohyeah:

a) apart from making sure all the latest drivers are installed get the GTA IV patch done. It really helps. (I cant recall whther this was the solution that worked for me but am sure it would have had been the right one. )

b) If ur OS is windows 7 :
type "services" in the search bar after hitting STart

Windows Event log - Hit Right Click and then Properties
go to "Start up type" and select DISABLE,

Restart the PC and try again.

I think this is wat made my GTA IV get rid of its freezing issues coz as far as i understand the event log updates itself everytim a keystroke is used..
Newys my advice would be to try the 1st option and then try the 2nd.

All D Best :hap2::hap2::hap2:

Mates...Thank you very much for your replies :)

Finally.. solved the problem, I was using Logitech Pro Internet Keyboard, it has PS2 connector so I used PS2 to USB connector, seems like this adapter is a issue, today I went to Ritchie Street (I am in Chennai) and searched for USB keyboards, its really hard to find :/ USB keyboard (FULL WIDTH) and finally found Lenovo KU-0225 and 41A5289 USB FULL WIDTH keyboard and decided to buy the 41A5289.

Just now entered home, changed the keyboard and I can drive without any problems

GRID, NFS Pro Street .. this 2 looks AWSOME Quality in GTX 260 Black Edition (Temp : Idle - 48 C , Load = 70-75 C)

Thank you everyone for your suggestions, I learned a lot from your comments.

Thank you again :) I really donno what to say :D
