Graphic Cards Help guys!! :(

Hello guys!
Well I need some suggestions on buying ati 4670 graphics card

First of all let me tell you my system specs :

Amd athlon X2 3800+ (2 mhz)
Asus M2N-MX motherboard
1 gig 667 mhz ram
Foxin cabinet with integreted PSU(400 w it says!)
LG 700b 17" monitor

I used to have a Xfx geforce 7600gt gfx card and it ran well for 3 years! Then a few days before when I was playing "Prototype" some red and blue lines and shapes appeared throughout the screen and the computer restarted..Then the graphics card never worked! Its officially dead..What can be the reason of it? My PSU or the Heating?

And now that I need to buy a gfx card I dont have that much of money! My budget is around 5000 bucks! Please suggest a good gfx card! I shortlisted the ATI 4670! Should I buy it?

And then do I have to buy a new psu with it?

And if I have to please suggest a new psu within 1k!

I would like to play new games like GTA4,COD6,Fallout 3 etc at medium settings..Will I be able to do that?

Please Help!
 
With the 4670 you will be able to play Fallout 3 at around 60 FPS at medium and GTA 4 at high @ 1280*960 with texture filter at medium and reflection and shadows almost off at say around 30-35 FPS. These are the results i got from my previous rig with a 4400+ and 4670 and 2GB of ram, so you would want to buy another stick of ram!!Otherwise the card is good and will last you for some time!!

The PSU you have will do fine!!
 
why are you buying 4670?

5670 is out in the market with a price tag of just 5.5k for 512MB version...
 
It doenst need a seperate power connector.

But go for the MSI 1GB DDRIII HD4670~4.4k. Its 1k cheaper and also consumes lesser power than the HD5670.

Plus 1GB VRAM will come in handy when playing GTA-IV :)

Wait for 2-3 weeks if you can. Prices may dip to 4k range when the HD5670 is available widely.

Then you can also upgrade your PSU to a decent one like the FSP SAGAII 350w ~1.6k :)
 
Because I only have 5000 bucks to spare! Nothing more I'll be granted! :(

can you suggest Any other PSU at <1k that would work? And I've heard about Circle cabinets at 1k with a decent PSU..Can I invest on it?
 
Dont buy nething....wait for HD4670 prices to dip..

actually, the HD5670 wud be bottlenecked by ur CPU in many many cases,,, but then it's the most futureproof buy.

again it overshoots the budget, so try for a 2nd hand HD4670 plus FPS Saga 350W..

Else, buy the PSU and save up and buy the HD5670 later..
 
I checked the latest prices here and I'm getting the 1gb version of ATI 4670 at 4.5k and FSP SAGA II 500 w at 2.5k and the 400w is 2.3k!!!!!! What should I do guys?
 
Ok thanks! Actually cant find the 350 w version anywhere and I find it really risky to buy online! Thats why was thinking what to do! And I've planned to sell my old guitar! That should provide 2k extra! :) Just waiting for a customer!
