Help in OC'ing AMD 2800+ Socket 754 on Asus K8s-mx

Friends, since my mobo is least oc friendly so I had refrained from oc'ing so far. But now, i dont know why, the urge is rising strongly within :P
When it comes to oc'ing, my mobo has hardly any options in its bios. I am posting the screenshots of these bios options. Details of my rig is in my siggy. If any kind of screenshot is required, I can provide it. Kindly help this poor ol' noob in determining what values to set in the bios :)



- Please sugg me what values to use in the beginning
- In what increments to increase
- How far to go safely (warrenty has expired on my mobo+proccy :hap2: )
 
Now you can always push the FSB [CPU Frequency: 200-250] in A64 case but since your board is not that friendly you gotta go real slow[say 2MHZ @ a time and keep checking Temps]. IDK about First option and hence you gotta try with both and stick to one which gives better results. Also Fix the AGP/PCI to 66/33 for more stability while OCing. Real bad thing is VDIMM option of 2.6V, not good but you can choose that & try your luck. Get a better PSU if you can, dat Antec 350W will not take you long with that much of additional weight [HDDs n Drives] to pull... Also how in the HELL VCORE is 1.59V in SPEEDFAN?? I mean reading is way off or your PSU is playing tricks. Also the Temps are high overall so you can pass the OCing idea till you do something about it.... may be better air-flow in cabby can help.
BOTTOM LINE IS, OCING WITHOUT PROPER CARE [GOOD PSU, COOLING & AIRFLOW] CAN DAMAGE YOUR COMPONENTS.
 
well warning before u proceed above the 235 fsb mark...my friend did it with a crappy frontech PSU and his K8S-MX went kaput .... so be careful...u should be able to take it to 230 without problems..but watch out for the voltages :)

also reduce vcore to 1.50 in the bios... the 2800+ can oc easily to 2.2 ghz on 1.5

You are scaring me bro . . . . what should have ben the proper reading ? 2.5 or 2.6 ? Damn, I better go and study some oc'ing sites soon.

I hope you mean the vcore to be 2.5 na ? Coz the mobo only shows two options :2.5 and 2.6.

Basically I do not want to push my system to any limits, I just want do a bit of OC'ing just for the sake of it. Im aware of the heating issues in my pc. I guess a moderate 200mhz oc (from 1.8 ghz stock t 2ghz)) would sufice to satiate my khujli :P

And can someone please point me to a site that can help me in learning more about vcores and voltages relevant for my proccy coz I really know zip about it.
 
You miss-understood VCORE for VDIMM... VCORE is Voltage for CPU.. VDIMM is RAM voltage.. dont mix both... lol....also in that ATI FANSPEED thing ur VCORE is 1.59V @ bottom... and that is not right. Hope you got it cleared now.
 
Set the CPU multiplier to to 8x ... , HTT multiplier to 3x ... now force the RAM to ddr333 MHz .. no increase the FSB upto 242 MHz ...
 
Will do that and post the result here. Might take 1-2 days as my cuzens r here and I hardly sit by my pc. Thanks for the help :)
 
1.59 VCORE is high for even for a stock NewCastle core Athlon. the correct values should be something in the 1.45 to 1.5 range.
