Hello to my fellow TE'ites :eek:hyeah:

I am a gamer and I am looking forward to buy a 19" LCD in the beginning of September from Nehru Place. So I want your opinion regarding the brand and price and also the shop that i should buy it from. If someone knows a dealer in NP and can get me a discount too then that would be an icing on the cake  . Help me choose an LCD please.

TIA.

PS: Should i go for a WS or a normal one?:ashamed:

go wide screen and be sure that u have a good graphics card to power it and for the best 19"lcd monitor i think u should go with LG Electronics L194WT 19” Widescreen LCD or an viewsonic va1912wb both monitors have faster response time and good contrast ratio and DVi inputs

^^ I am actually looking for a VFM product, one which won't burn deep holes in my pocket and also should be a good quality product (no dead pixels, crisp picture quality, good for gaming). More opinions please...

If you are gaming, then do go for widescreen. I have the Samsung 940BW and it's a nice piece. It has backlight bleeding to an extent but only when the screen is black. While gaming you don't notice it at all.

If you're on a budget, most LCDs will have a TN panel anyhow, like mine.

Haven't used Viewsonic LCD but their CRTs are really good. If possible, get a side-by-side comparison done and see which one you like best.

SOme one tell me, price of these 2 VX1932wm and vg1930wm for view sonic is same... vx comes with a bundled DVI cable, where as vg doesnt, apart from that whats the difference !!!

??

thank you

^VG also comes with a DVI cable. Major difference is the VX has a 2 ms repsonse time while the VG has 5 ms. Also VG has built in speakers while im not sure the VX does

VX1932WM:

Contrast Ratio: 2000:1

Brightness: 300 cd/m2 (typ)

Viewing Angle: 160° horizontal, 160° vertical (CR>10)

Response Time: 2ms

Speakers: 2W x2

Consumption: 35W (typ.)

VG1930WM:

Contrast Ratio: 700:1

Brightness: 300 cd/m2 (typ)

Viewing Angle: 150° horizontal, 135° vertical (CR>10)

Response Time: 5ms

Speakers: 1.5W x2

Consumption: 36W (typ.)

VA1912Wb-3:

Contrast Ratio: 700:1

Brightness: 300 cd/m2 (typ)

Viewing Angle: 160° horizontal, 160° vertical (CR>10)

Response Time: 5ms

Speakers: 1W x2

Consumption: 36W (typ.)

VA1912W:

VA1912Wb:

Contrast Ratio: 500:1

Brightness: 300 cd/m2 (typ)

Viewing Angle: 150° horizontal, 130° vertical (CR>10)

Response Time: 5ms

Speakers: 1W x2

Consumption: 36W (typ.)

VX1932WM beats VG1930WM from almost every angle & looks better too :eek:hyeah:

I think VA1912W/Wb has been discontinued as it got replaced by VA1912Wb-3 which has also been discontinued i think :ashamed:

anyways it is VX1932WM > VG1930WM > VA1912Wb-3 > VA1912W/Wb :)

and the icing on the cake is that VX1932WM is available for just Rs. 9000
r u sure of that....coz some other guy in other thread quoted vg1930wm for 10200..so its out of question for VX one to b that cheap....lemme know if u got a trusted source...any dealer in NP?

If it's true that VX1932WM is available for just Rs.9000, it's definitely worth buying.......and fits nicely within my max budget of 10K.
