21-30k Help me choose a 32” QHD Gaming Monitor under ₹30k (G-Sync, Best Blacks, HDR/SDR) for RTX 5060 Ti – LG vs Others?

Hi TE folks,

It's been a while since I've posted here. I want to upgrade my monitor to pair with the one I will upgrade from my Ancient 1070 to a new, disappointing RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB. My main uses are gaming (single-player and casual online), watching movies, and general media. I’m currently on a 32" Acer monitor (no HDR :dead:), and I want something that will give me a much better experience, especially in terms of black levels, HDR/SDR quality, and minimal backlight bleed. Refresh rate isn’t a big deal, but I need Nvidia G-Sync compatibility.

Budget: Up to ₹30,000
Size/Resolution: 32-inch, 2560x1440 (QHD)
Panel Preference: Best possible black levels, local dimming preferred, minimal backlight bleed
Shortlisted Models (Amazon India):
Questions:
  1. Which of these LG models (or any other in this price range) has the best black levels, local dimming, and minimal backlight bleed?
  2. How is the HDR/SDR quality on these? Is it actually worth it at this price point, or just marketing?
  3. Are there any other brands/models I should consider (Acer, BenQ, MSI, etc.) for better panel quality or features?
  4. Any real-world feedback on panel uniformity, backlight bleed, or build quality for these LG models?
What matters most to me:
  • Deep blacks, good contrast for movies/games
  • No annoying backlight bleed or clouding
  • G-Sync compatibility
  • Decent HDR (not expecting miracles, but want a visible upgrade from SDR)
I’ve seen some reviews mention that LG generally has better color and picture quality than Acer, but also that VA panels can have black smearing in games, and IPS panels can have backlight bleed. Is there a sweet spot for my use case? Any advice or user experiences would be super helpful!

PS: Planning to upgrade to a pure OLED or mini-LED panel in the future when prices come down, so want something solid and reliable for now.

Thanks in advance for your help!

For HDR, you need either miniled or oleds.
We dont seem to have many miniled. There are acer ones - 27 and 32.
AOC ones were supposed to be good but i never saw in India, and Samsung neo g7 which is 60k+

This one is 40k-50k but generally out of stock.

XV275K P3 27 - 27 version used to be in low 30k range and will be easier to run on 5060 Ti but i dont know if its available.
They used to be there on Acer sites, but google search doesnt show them anymore. Check.

HDR wont do much for normal IPS/VA monitors. Better to ignore. You can go for VA i guess for better blacks vs ips ( still nowhere near oleds) but they have their own issues so better research first.
I would save and go for miniled ( if cheaper and available) or direct to oleds ( which do have burn in problem so gotta take care and may not be best choice if room is very bright)
Cheapest oled so far i have see is for mid 50s - 27 360 msi.

Otherwise just go for crowd favorite Acer xv272u - cheap good 27 and easier to run games on it.
HDR is definitely a big jump - i really like it ( Dell Aw32)

I got a neo odyssey g7 32/4k mini LED for 28k, point being you can always look for USED deals on TE, OLX and whatsapp channels as well. Discretion advised though.
And why go for the 5060ti when there are class deals available on the rx7000 series?

Thanks for the detailed info! I’ve read up on the different panel types and feel confident about that part now, but I’m still figuring out the other features-especially since I didn’t realize HDR isn’t that impressive on IPS panels. That’s good to know.

I’m set on 1440p because 4K would be overkill for my GPU, and I’ve ruled out OLED due to potential burn-in. I also think 27" is a bit small for my needs, so I’m leaning towards something above 32". After some searching, I noticed that 34" ultrawide monitors are pretty common and could be a great fit.

Could you guys help me decide which 34" ultrawide would be best for gaming? I’m not sure what specs or features should be my main priority. Here are a couple of models I found:
Would appreciate any advice or real-world feedback on these, or suggestions for other models I should consider!

I’ve checked out the used market, but couldn’t find anything that fits my requirements. Plus, I don’t really trust OLX or WhatsApp channels after getting scammed in the past, so I’d rather avoid those. That said, if anyone here is looking to sell a 32-inch mini LED monitor, please let me know!

As for the 5060 Ti, I chose it mainly for its low power consumption, Nvidia DLSS 4 quality (fake frame generation is actually pretty solid), and reliable drivers. I’m not chasing max performance or high FPS- 60 fps is perfectly fine for me as long as the experience is smooth and stutter-free. Correct me if I'm wrong here.

I don't think nvidia is winning in reliability this generation, just check out the blackwell thread and how we all are making fun of them. You would ideally want to wait for 9060xt or you can extend budget to 9070 non xt. That card is relatively efficient if buying new.

Get one of your shortlisted IPS models
or if you want VA, go for the below:

Checkout Samsung Odyssey G5/G6 as well, believe there is a 32" VA/IPS panel.

You don't have a lot of options in 32" space, OLED cost a lot with burn-in flaw which renders it useless after warranty & miniLED is non-existent outside of laptop screens.

Have you come across this in your research - https://www.amazon.in/GIGABYTE-Curved-Monitor-Display-Response/dp/B09TB7QGT6 ?. The model which I have linked above is a successor to the G32QC with minor changes. The G32QC had favourable reviews on rtings and tom's hardware. Check out the reviews. TH has said it has "excellent HDR". It fits your budget and is a 1440p monitor. However, it is not an IPS panel but VA. Here is the official link to the monitor - https://www.gigabyte.com/Monitor/G32QC-A

On another note, I use the G27Q from Gigabyte. No special use case. Just use it for the usual 1440p gaming, reading and web browsing. So far a good experience. It has been 11 months of usage now.

I wont go by TH monitor guy. I dont think i have ever seen a negative review from him.
He even said that XV272U has good HDR. rtings does not.
My ( untrained) eyes did not see much difference, but HDR on oled is clear cut night and day difference, esp in dark room/dark scenes.
( good miniled should be good too but i have never used them)

Look at rtings instead.

The Gigabyte G32QC is okay for HDR. While it has a high native contrast ratio, it doesn't have a local dimming feature to further improve it, and it has a ton of blacklight bleed. Also, it doesn't get bright enough to make highlights stand out in HDR.
Brightness popping is probably the best thing about HDR combined with inf contrast and good colors. Plain IPS/VA panels will at best have good colors.
Without perfect blacks and local dimming ( or oled which has per pixel brightness control), HDR is not worth paying extra for.

Ah. I have had the impression that Tom's Hardware is trustworthy, has been around for ages, but perhaps not nowadays. Just thought OP might find the link useful and then do some research on his own. However, I didn't understand the 27' monitor links. OP wanted 32' monitor, I thought.
