My Dear TE members,

Your advice to Buy used Entry Level XBOX/PS3 for my son, aged 13 years old, studing in 7th Std.

Want to buy before 25 March.

I think Mid-Range and featured will to do to start using.

i would suggest a xbox 360. if you are buying a used one, make sure it is under warranty. also avoid modded console.

on a second thought, you might want to try a psp instead?
 
PS3 costs 10000/- bux over the xbox so if you want to be budget friendly go for the xbox (online pay would cost you extra) . However with a PS3 you would not have to live with the RRoD fear and online play is free.
 
Ya , if you are on a tight budget go for XBOX 360 but it has some major RROD problems which can occur anytime , otherwise go for PS3 , it also has many good games for kids like Ratchet & Clank series and Little Big Planet etc..

If want my advise , buy the Wii , its the best console for a kid or even adults , as you can play games like tennis , golf etc. alongside your kid like you would have done in a neighborhood park.

Its available for ~ 13k in the Grey Market here , japanese version , one of my friend's bought it

2. should go for wii or xbox 360

Pls give more details about wii & unable to Understand "RROD"
 
invest in a single good console rather than ending up buing 2 or 3 due to problems faced by second hand ones

better go for ps2 is only 6k and lot of games

he can get the other consoles later

It's actually Rs. 6,490 for an unmodded Playstation 2. That is the best console you can get for him at this point. You can grab this console from nearest Crom or Sony showroom.
 
for around 7k u will get a modded ps2 and then you can get ahem games.the ps2 has got a vast library and there are still developers out there developing games for the ps2.if u invest like 7k more than your budget u will get a modded wii(us version around 17k)
 
Dont spoil your kid with video games///lol//just kidding// considering age of your kid you should go for Playstation 2. There are plenty of family as well as racing games in PS2 which ur kid surely luv to play.Keep Xbox360 and other high end console for later,this is not right time

At that age , would personally recommend a Nintendo Wii.

It's great fun and no budget problems as well. :)

^ PS2? It's outdated dude , what is he going to do with a ps2?

Right we know he's in seventh doesn't mean he doesn't get the difference between a ps2 and a Wii. lol

And the Wii is for 11,800 in the Grey Market in New Delhi and it's obviously the current gen. console !

So @ this budget a Nintendo Wii will be a great buy !
