I need to buy something online. I want to transfer funds from my SBI account (net banking enabled) to the seller's SBI account.
He has provided me with IFSC code of his bank branch and his account number.

Can anyone tell me the steps to be done to do a NEFT transfer?

login to ur account > go to profile > login to your profile by proving the profile password > manage beneficiary > third party > and give the details of the account with

name, account number, transfer amount limit. After that go to the arrove tab of the same page, and select the benefiary you just added and give the secret code you received on your sms for that beneficiary. After that wait for the bank to cross creck and final approvement. Will take 4~6 hours and happens only during working hours.

then login to your account > payments and transfers > third party transfers > give the amount and click pay now after selecting the beneficiary from the list. done

+1. This is the way to transfer money online to an sbi account.

There is some stuff you will need to do before sending the money, mainly making him a beneficiary and then there are some charge. I was charged 20 bucks for NEFT for inter bank a/c transfer.

it s probably a mistake, as the maximum for 1,00,000/- transfer is only Rs.5/- as any service charge.

Upto Rs.1 lakh Rs.5/-
Above Rs.1 lakh to Rs.2 lakhs Rs.15/-
Above Rs.2 lakhs Rs.25/-

Applicable charges

Hey guys, can anyone please confirm that, while activating, does it mean that bank verifies the given details like A/c Number, Name, IFSC Code??

Means if everything matches then the beneficiary A/c gets activated. Is it like that??

they only check the name, acc number and ifsc code/branch. You can just type in any address as its there only for some banks (like SBI).

somewhat the same happens when we deposit manually at the bank. They cross checks the name and account number and sometimes the branch too (or IFSC). It it doesnt match, they would say, it doesnt match and transfer is not possible.
