Help me get rid of mosquitoes (anything except zapper racquet)

2 things that work for me:
1) Mosquito nets on all the windows (don't forget the openings for exhaust fans in the kitchen/bathroom)
2) citronella or citronella incense sticks are pretty effective.

So a good night mat which is effective.. nice. Does it work on the Indian mosquitoes :p ?
Exactly. 10+ yr old tech made portable thanks to lithium cells. Nightcore had a similar model with its own mats. Given the description I guessed he was going to post similar.

I don't find those mats around these days. People have moved on to to these auto dispenser sprays for example by HIT.

Which claims to be 2x more effective than the cheaper 'liquid vaporiser' types like All out or Mortein.

And older school insect repellent spray

People fall for electronic scam products because they want to avoid the recurring refill costs. Only chemicals work. Accept it and budget for it.
More seriously, In some country people developed mosquito variants that couldn't breed but crowded out other males. Sounds nice.
This is called GMO. I doubt it was let out maybe controlled tests. Take it further you end up on an isolated island like Dr. Moreau

GoodKnight has developed 'Renofluthrin' – India’s first indigenously developed and patented molecule which makes the most efficacious liquid vapouriser formulation for mosquito control. that is more effective on mosquitos, check if arrived in market. Read here

Also GoodKnight FastCard is too effective. (Personally used it and found it is good)

Compared to Transfluthrin, Renofluthrin gives efficacy at much lower concentration. Renofluthrin possesses enhanced bio-efficacy with good KT50 value against mosquitoes such as Aedes aegypti, Culex quinquefasciatus at lower concentration. Read Here

Spray doesnt work as well. I've used spray from Bagon and Morteen. Spray is complex to use. You gotta first spray especially in the corners. Then close the room and keep it sealed for 30 mins. Then open the room and enter after 5 mins more.

what if younger children's & Senior Citizens with Asthma etc. respiratory issues inhale that spray?
There is a booklet included with more info but they say to avoid excessive inhalation. I think it should be fine. I've seen air stewards spray in the cabin pointing to the top when arriving at some places.

Will have to try Citronella incense sticks. I see many are available on Amazon, do you recommend any ones in particular?

The one I use is from a brand called Phool. It is organic and smells good. It comes with a wooden incense holder (long enough that the ash also falls on the holder). One neat thing is that the instruction manual is made from seed paper, which you can burry in the ground, and a plant will grow. They are less irritating on the nose than the ones from mainstream brands. I hate mosquito coil cause it makes my nose stuffy, but this brand's incense does not.

If you have Blinkit or Instamart, you can order them right away.

Yes, I was searching and zeroed in on the Phool citronella incense sticks as well. Checked on Blinkit and they have it so will order tomorrow morning. Thanks for the input my friend, appreciate it! :)

I have asthma, and all out stuff has triggered it for me. Dont like inhaling burned stuff either ( so much leaf burning in my area in winters, what a stupid way to create pollution .. )

Odomas works well + cover arms and legs + socks - so only need to apply on exposed areas. Instead of face, i just apply slightly behind ears, some on neck.
And keep windows closed before evening.

wearing socks at night helps me the most because despite having netted windows & keeping all closed at pre-dusk times, sometimes one or the other remains open or/and some 'mosquitoniyas' slip-in through the gaps, and those which're already hiding in the house become active at night, and usually the only exposed part they find on me are near the heels & ankle-area of my feet (as am hairy like a 'reechh' & these bloodsuckers & other insects usually stay away from my face arms & legs, or risk getting lost & trapped in my forested limbs). if i forget or ignore wearing socks at any such time when there're more of them at home, the itch & irritation from a bite quickly reminds me to rub a lemon & then don the 'armour'!

I've never seen sticks. We used candles (more like torches with big candles in them) when eating outdoors and they were effective against all flying bugs.

The limonene really drives them away.

I've never seen these candles in India.

Found one with a good burn time.

Here is another
Always burn these candles in an airy room with cross ventilation.
Obvious advantage is no soot.

When we had to spend time in outdoors, we used to burn neem sticks, Eucalyptus tree leaves to ward off insects and Mosquitos. They worked so well. But getting suck items in the city is tough.
Got some ideas from here to try them out back home for the rainy season.

These were the things that we used to try in rainy season/Winter,
1) Keep the balcony free from standing water, we had plants but ensured that the water drains off.
2) Ensure that the room is squeaky clean from strewn clothes and all wardrobes locked out.
3) We wipe the floor using phenol now nymyle with floor mop and ensure all areas are wiped.
4) Ensure the gaps behind head board of bed, between almirah and walls are not present. Areas where mosquitos hide.
5) We close all windows by 3-4 pm in the afternoon, if using AC, blast the room in full chill mode for atleast 15 min, then off it . Power up repellant for 1/2 hr. go to the living room suffocate the mosquitos.
6) Open the door and give a nice squatting with mosquito racket covering all areas including hiding areas.
7) Wear full sleeved clothes and cover feet with socks rolled up to the pants. Left is the visible portion of hands and face, which can be covered using odomos. We cover them in Coconut oil to ward off cold & dry skin. this works against mosquitos, I think.
8) When we go for sleep, Humidifier with Eucalyptus drops so that every one breathes more comfortably also worked against mosquitos.

Nets are best but the quality takes a beating after some time.

@raksrules Pray for your younger one to get better soon and win the war with mosquitos.
