mid level Pc Config with in 24k except monitor

My frnd told me to for

pro: phenom X4 9550

motherboard: GA-MA78GPM-FS2H

memory: 2*2gb

HDD: seagate 320gb

cabinet: zebronics bijili

Ups: APC 500w

dvd rw: LG 8.5gb, DL

IBall GAMER keyboard and mouse

saphire radeon HD4650 or 4350

Is it best config??presently..

help me out..

I suggest the following changes:-

CPU = Intel C2D E7200/7300/7400
Motherboard = Gigabyte EG31 S2L
GPU = Palit HD 4850 (HD4650 or 4350= wtf?)
HDD = Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500 GB Single Platter
PSU = Corsair VX450/Tagan TGU37 500W

For the RAM get a 2x2GB 800Mhz Transcend kit. If possible get Pi Blacks but that will overshoot your budget by a bit.
Good luck :)

This would be a decent configuration if you are really in the mood to OC drop the E7400 and get a E5200 + Sunbeam SCCF / Ultima 90. The R0 shouldn't have a problem crossing 3.6ghz.

Also if your not much into gaming you might wanna ask KMD for the price of the 4830 which is currently only at 90$.

AMD Phenom II 720 Black Edition ===== 7.9k Techshop.in
Biostar 790 GX ===== 5.5 k
4 Gb kit even Corsair XMS2 cost 2.8k
500 GB Seagate 7200.12 ===== donno the price but somehwhat 3k
HIS Radeon 4830 from KMD ...==== 5.5k
Cabinate any you like.. I would recommend Antec 300 ===== 3.3k
PSU : ==== Well get a good one . don't compromise in this.. I would recommend Corsair CX 400 ~3.2 k
Keyboard/ Mouse .. MS Comfort Curve .. You can't anything better than this in this price range ===== ~2k

Add all it.. 30k exact ,, Now this rig is a great high end rig that can last a long.. Get u good frames in new games and high potential to OC

A really nice config indeed, but it overshoots his budget considerably. The mid-range C2D's offer the best bang for the buck and hence my selection of the same...
@TS
Bro, if you can stretch your budget a bit, do give the above a serious consideration.

@H2O
The stock performance on the E7400/7400 will keep him happy for now, when he feels like OCing, add a cooler to the mix and it's all set. I do see the point though, going for a cheaper processor will probably let him get better RAM and/or keyboard/mouse combo(or a CPU cooler, but i think that can be added later).

^^Look I had put in the premium in the price segment :P You can always decrease the budget by getting Value Ram, a cheap cabinate and decent PSU that will bring down the budget significantly ;)

Though I will stick to the config I posted. . Its was better than Intel E7XXX anyday and worth spending extra moolah.. Remember you don't spend in PC everyday :)

E7400 = 5.5k

gigabyte P31 = ~3.2k

500gb 7200.12 = 2.7k

Elite 334 = 2k

CM460w = 2.2k

4gb transcend 800mhz = 2.2k

HD 4850 = 7.6k ( rahul on ebay )

total = 25k appox . if u wanna oc more , replace E7400 with E5200 + core contact freezer .

amd triple core will cost 8k and one can get intel quad core Q8200 by adding 1k more which will be much better and gigabyte P43 for 5.5k approx. so if u are increasing budget get quad core + P31/P43 .

The main problem is that the LGA 775 processors are all End Of the line..
if he plans to upgrade on this rig itself soon Then darkstars config is the best..
If he wont upgrade for a long time (around 2 years or so)then intel way is good..

Darkys config is good but maybe he can get himself an X3 710 which should be priced similarly to the E7400.

To Darkstar config,

Change the 790 to 780 u'll get the mobo for ~4k
Get a Zebronics Bijli without SMPS...
Change the RAMs to transcend...
Change the PSU to CM460...

There u got ur PC for 25k...And this config should beat every other dere...and last for few years without a worry...:ohyeah:

+1, stick to E7xxx, triple/quad have no advantage. even if there is, its 4 : 5 performance eg. C2D @ 4GHz will match C2Q @ 3.2 in applications which r optimized for multi cores, otherwise always faster. Also it suits UR budget. Have used Q6600, sad experience. Think abt power consumption, not talking abt others, except compression I had no use of Quad.

This is the config I have thought of ( after discussing on another forum Gaming computer configuration for 40 k Rs - Hardware Peripherals ). Not challenging other configuration given above as I am a newbie. but I felt like for playing games and movies this could be a balanced combination of processor speed with graphics card. seniors please please... comment.

Athlon 64 X2 7750+ 2.9GHz 3MB L2 cache Black Edition --3700 rs

Palit Radeonâ„¢ HD 4850 Sonic 512MB DDR3 Graphic Card --8900rs

Asus M3A78-EM 8GB DDR2 --5400 rs

RAM 1X2 GB Transcend --1200 rs

Seagate 500GB Hard Drive - ST3500320AS --3600 rs

Samsung 22X DVD RW Sata Black --1200 rs

ATX Cabinet with 500 Watts SMPS --3000 rs

mouse +keyboard --1000 rs

total - 28000 rs

Price is from local vendors in hyderabad . so you might get some better or worse deal depending upon the location,some are from websites. would send the link if wanted.

Please do comment....

I would really appreciate it if any senior reads the link given and suggests any thing to be improved or complete changeover ( don't mind changing whole configuration but please give link why do you think your config in same price is better than this one)

^^Don't get that dual core. Its uselss now :P Too old and AMD would be releasing new Athlon in April so that will be EOL soon..Also that X2 will bottleneck the graphics card..

That PSU won't be able to handel 4850 :P Who so ever suggested you hasn't done h/w :P

Brtter spend in new Amd Phenom II 710 and Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-S2HP for 4700 Rs.. 4850 might be too much , get a 9600 Gt for 5600 from Palit :)

Edit : You have mentioned 40k there ? :S

Get This or Get the AMD as suggested by DarkStar .

The one you mentioned is not a good configuration at all .:)

Amen to these specs!

If not the P31 mainboard, get the Gigabyte G31-S2L for like 2.4k, get the SCCF cooler (another 2.6k IINM), OC the processor to 4G and u've a kick-ass setup! :D

Guru ..I think I should post the reasons why I made that config so that you could judge my assumptions and give better suggestions. assumptions made by reading some forums and reviews ( though I am a newbie..)
1. dual core 3 Ghz is better than X3/quad 2.7 Ghz( I don't know but read on many forums and even sidhuPanjab has a similar view, please comment..)
2. I heard 2.8 Ghz+ processor can run any game at present in the market ( though dubious statement but you can clarify)
3.4850 is best value for money and amazing ( I thought it would be best for me)
I play games like oblivion/GTA/strategy games (m waiting for future versions of AOE or similar game)
Don't play FPS/racing often( 4-5 times a month)
please respond on these also
1.Do you think amd phenom 710+gigabyte GA-MA78GM-S2HP+ Palit hd 4850 (not sonic)would be even better value for money or the combination you mentioned would be better
2.If I replace Athlon 7750+ with Athlon 6000+ ,3 Ghz, would you still think my config would not be better than your earlier suggestion
3. Whatever is your final recommendation please suggest which cabinet with PSU I should buy. Please give something which is low in price but can handle the rig.
Please please do comment.

Yes , dual cores will out-perform x3 in most of the games . An E7xxx can easily be overclocked to 3400Mhz and above .

2. I heard 2.8 Ghz+ processor can run any game at present in the market ( though dubious statement but you can clarify)

I would say along with an HD 4850 , a dual core running at 3.2ghz + won't be a bottle neck .

3.4850 is best value for money and amazing ( I thought it would be best for me)

I play games like oblivion/GTA/strategy games (m waiting for future versions of AOE or similar game)

Don't play FPS/racing often( 4-5 times a month)

4850 will run most of the games at good frame-rates . It's certainly a good buy .

please respond on these also

1.Do you think amd phenom 710+gigabyte GA-MA78GM-S2HP+ Palit hd 4850 (not sonic)would be even better value for money or the combination you mentioned would be better

Depends on what you are looking for , If you plan to game more you are better of with an dual core , IMO

2.If I replace Athlon 7750+ with Athlon 6000+ ,3 Ghz, would you still think my config would not be better than your earlier suggestion

No , don't get Athlon's , if you want AMD get Phenom II

3. Whatever is your final recommendation please suggest which cabinet with PSU I should buy. Please give something which is low in price but can handle the rig.

Please mention your budget , if you have 6k to spend get CM 3xx series + Corsair Vx450w , if less replace Vx450 with Cm460 .

Please please do comment.

PS : - This is my personal opinion . :P
