Hello Computer Gurus

PLease help by giving me a configuration for a new computer

My budget is 60k(incl.1500 for warranty,etc..)

My Usage will be
1. Gaming(like HL2, DOOM3, NFS UG2,Splinter Cell Chaos,etc) in a good settings.
2.internet
3.Image editing(Photoshop)
4.Watching DVD/Videos etc..
5. Creating Home videos
The config should hve
64 bit solution , Geforce 6600Gt 128MB DDR3, 2.1 Speaker enough(Creative or altec lansing only), :)
External Tv Tuner(Coz i dont want to watch TV by switching on my computer), Geforce 6600GT, 17inch CRT flat monitor, Benq 1640 DVD writer, Windows XP home OEM edition(Rs.3500/-) and zebronics High end Cabinet (Costs Rs.2500/-). So please include this in the price and tell me a good config which can last good for 4yrs. I live in chennai. Peoples from chennai can help me with this. I would like to know anyone who can offer me this config with a good service.

In that budget, you can snag a 6800GT or X800XL ;). Zebronics cabinets are horrible... go for either antec or coolermaster and a good powersupply as well. Nice to see someone factoring the cost of the OS in the config :). Good going ;)

PLease tell me the price of each parts separetly and also if you guyz are chennai, plz let me know.

In chennai check out Ritche Street. Take a day and look around various shops asking the price and bargain.

I found Savera Info systems to be quite cheap of all and made most of my purchases there but the guy is a bit stingy and dosent reduce on bargaining :(

^^The point is u shud not depend on the dealer. Each part has a service center. If something goes wrong just go to the service center and get it replaced. Generally its pretty painless. Instead of the asus A8N-E + SB Live 24bit, I'd suggest the MSI K8N SLi Platinum board... its got SLI support, a better overclocker, firewire has an onboard Live 24bit card. A better deal IMHO. Also it costs just 9300 bucks.

Also i dont need a soundcard as its already there in the motherboard and also i m looking for a 3200+ venice, so can anyone tell me the price of this. Also tell me anyother good cabinet(With a good look, cooling and with power supply) not more than Rs.2500

^^ You can get an Antec 1650 for 3K. Comes with a 350W PSU. Don't skimp on cabinet and especially the powersupply as u might have trouble later on otherwise. Its the number one cause of all system trouble/failures. The 3200+ venice is not worth it... just buy a 3000+ venice and overclock it. Shud do 2.4GHz easily which is like 400MHz more than a 3200+ ;)

Edit: Other than the MSI board i suggested, the onboard sound on the others sound like $hit :P.

I want to know. since all of u are over clocking 3000+ venice. Is the system running smoothly without any problem and can any one give details on how to overclock, etc. what i need to do it. I am just a 1yr college student. So i dont hve experience assembling any PC.

Overclocking a venice 3000+ to 3200+ is pratically risk free as thats a 200 mhz bump only. For overcloking A64 we have a stickied thread in oc section check that.

You can always learn how to assemble :). Its not hard at all. Plus once you learn it, you'll never go back to the assembler again. In fact if u are doing comp sci/ computer engg, its the first thing that you should be learning ;). You can find tonnes of guides on the net on how to assemble computers. Plus we are always here to help! Overclocking is like a gamble... however u can always increase your chances of hitting the jackpot by improving ur odds by choosing the right stuff. Most 3000+ venices shud get to 2.4GHz stable easy unless u get a really crappy one.

I run my 3000+ Venice @ 2.5 GHz 24x7
No problems whatsoever,i take care of cable management ,cooling[ventilation basically]

and you are ready to go.

Thanks a lot guyz for clearinmg my doubts and queries. Please do one more favour. can anyone give me exact link to a best tutorial on how to asemble a computer and to overclock it. I am basically a B.SC computer science 1st yr :D. So i dont hve exp on installing a motherboard, Processor, etc.. all i know is to install the other devices like Graphics Card, OPticeal devices, Hard Disc, etc.
